Colombia comes to Vancouver to give us as taste of the flavours this upcoming destination has to offer, and let me share, there is an abundance of things to do and see in Colombia. Firstly, there are more bird species in Colombia than any other country on the planet. There are university towns, coffee farms, turquoise seas and whitesand beaches, quaint colourful villages, beautiful people, and it is one of the top biking destinations on the planet. Trish has cycled up to the summit of Letres, an 80km, 3220 metre climb, and the longest bike climb in the world.

Romania, one of our hidden gems of a destination, is on the verge of becoming a bigger tourist attraction this year. Both Vogue Magazine and CNN Travel have recommended Romania as a stellar destination to visit.

We recommend going before it changes. It's still one of the few places left on earth that hasn't been changed by mass tourism.

We are soon entering the season for beautiful Peru. Inca Trail tickets are now on sale and many dates are selling out quickly. Late April to November is the best time to visit this wonderful destination. And if you go, the Amazon region of Porto Maldonado is highly recommended.

I love receiving pics from past groups that I've led. This was a custom adventure race that we put together in Costa Rica 20 years ago and it was the trip of a lifetime. Now that all their kids are grown, this group is back for round two in a different locale.

I am scouting a new adventure in the stunningly beautiful Fijian Islands – an undiscovered gem that absolutely belongs on your travel wishlist.

There are direct flights from Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York, so getting here is more convenient than ever, especially from the West Coast of North America. But once you arrive, the real magic begins.

The Fijian people are some of the friendliest and most hospitable I’ve ever encountered. Fiji also boasts the third largest reef in the world – making its snorkelling and diving experiences some of the best on the planet. The island's highlands are home to remote indigenous communities who live traditionally off the land and are still preserving their rich cultural ways of life, which is very rare to find nowadays.

Have you ever seen a sloth in the wild? Costa Rica is abundant with sloth encounters and the season for Costa Rica is upon us now. And, as you have all heard many times over the years, it's also a destination very near and dear to Trish's heart as it is the country where BikeHike was born.

Have you ever imagined spending a night on an active volcano?! This is your chance. It's just a few months away that Trish will be leading this special Guatemala departure. The departure is Feb. 22-Mar. 2, 25

Thank you to Lisa for sharing your pictures from your Cycling Puglia trip (Southern Italy) with us last month. There are lots of smiling faces, which we love to see.

A few years ago Puglia was off the beaten track but it's a buzz destination now. It's a great destination for those looking to cycle by day and experience farm to table experiences and historical cities. Let's not forget the pizzas, pastas, cheeses, gelatos and old world wines of course.
