We recently set off on a sunny afternoon and headed out east. Near Darcy Island we encountered a pod of Biggs Killer Whales, we believe to be the T046Bs. They were moving quickly, but we watched them surface lots, it was amazing! We then checked out some other wildlife in the Chain Island🌊🐳

A perfect night in the beautiful Salish Sea🐋☀️🌊

We set off in search of whales and came across lots of birds around a bait ball.... we hung around for a while anticipating a whale to surface, and sure enough one did! We admired a Humpback Whale surfacing lots (unknown individual). We then came across a breaching Humpback! And THEN it continuously tail slapped for several minutes- it was epic!🐋🌊
📸:
We set off in search of wildlife and suddenly encountered a Humpback Whale we believe to be called 'Vega'. We watched Vega show off its tail / fluke lots- it was amazing! We then checked out some wildlife around Race Rocks and then were able to come across another Humpback Whale, a female called 'Aerie'🐳🌊
📸:
We had such a fun tour that was filled with wildlife! We saw several Humpback Whales fluking and tail-lobing around the Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, and the tons of Sea Lions that hang around there as well! After more Humpback action, we toured along the shoreline where we found Ollie the Sea Otter🐳🌊🦦🦭

On a recent morning, it was the perfect example of a little something we call "whale soup"! We got to observe several Humpback Whales feeding in one area, close to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. It was amazing! We took a cruise through the main channel at Race to say hello to the sea lions before heading back to Victoria Harbour🐳🌊

On a recent tour, we were all left speechless with a double whale tour! We were fortunate enough to see both Bigg's Killer Whales, T060D (Onca) and T060E (Lynx), as well as a Humpback Whale known as Hammer! One of the most memorable parts of this tour was seeing Hammer slash their tail up above the surface of the water! It was so amazing!! Later, we toured around Race Rocks Ecological Reserve to see the sea lions, who were quite active this afternoon. We saw them jumping through the water and playing in the kelp before heading back to Victoria Harbour🐳🌊🐋

During this morning tour, we had incredibly calm seas, wonderful sun, and lots of Biggs Killer Whales just in the nick of time before the fog rolled in🐳🌊

On a recent tour, we set off east and soon encountered a pod of Biggs Killer Whales, we believe belonging to the T075Bs! We were super lucky on this occasion and witnessed them tail slapping LOTS- it was amazing! Plus a few pectoral slaps too🐳🌊
📸:
This was one of those tours we will never forget! We headed to Discovery island and came across a large pod of Biggs Killer Whales, belonging to the T049As! We watched them 'kelping' and socialising lots, it was magical🐳🌊
📸:
On last week's early morning tour, we saw two incredible cetaceans that call the Salish Sea home - Humpback Whales and Biggs Killer Whales! We also had the full West Coast experience with our everchanging weather including sun, rain, and fog all within 3 hours. To top it off we explored one of our iconic lighthouses known as Race Rocks which was absolutely teeming with life.
We believe the Killer Whales were the T049A's and the Humpback was an individual known as Vertigo 🐳🐋🌊

Last week, we were treated to multiple encounters with Humpback Whales, split up by a tour through Race Rocks ecological reserve, where we got to see the community of seals and sea lions that call this place home. Our first encounter was with a mum and her calf, who we have yet to identify. After Race, we found another Humpback who had been reported, and identified, earlier that day - Stitch! We got to see this whale fluke multiple times before heading back to the Victoria Harbour🐳🌊
