With his kind eyes and sweet demeanor, Spot has been a family favourite since he joined us in 2015. From his days as a show-winning halter horse to his current role in our special events, Spot shines in everything he does. 🌟

He's earned his Level 4 (Expert) in our horse development program and loves every new experience, including weddings and movies. His adoring fans come out to watch Spot pull our beautiful, hand-crafted sleigh each year in the Victoria Christmas parade!

Meet Sampson (“Sammy”), our beloved Belgian gelding, affectionately known as "Baby Boy" for his endearing, mommy-seeking eyes! 🐴

😍 Since joining Tally-Ho in 2016, Sampson has flourished as a carriage horse who has mastered the human-horse relationship beautifully.

Today, he’s not just a carriage horse but also a teacher, helping new drivers learn the ropes. Though he still seeks reassurance from his humans from time to time, he’s a brave and honest horse and truly valued member of the Tally-Ho herd!

Meet Remi, our delightful Belgian gelding! 🐴🌟

Joining the Tally-Ho herd in 2022, he’s one of our youngest horses at only 7 years old. As a young lad, Remi is highly skilled in getting himself into mischief! He’s always instigating play time with his herd-mates and finding funny ways to entertain his humans!

Remi has shown immense love for his new role in carriage work and adores all the attention he gets from our team and visitors alike. Fans love him, and we don’t blame them! 🥰

His favourite song is “Yellow Submarine”, by The Beatles – when his driver sings to him, Remi gets a happy hitch in his step and swings his tail to the rhythm.

❤️Our amazing Belgian-Percheron, Red, was born in 2012 and joined Tally-Ho in 2022. With his unique 'red roan' coloring, Red is not just a pretty face—he's a powerhouse in training!

This spring, he joined a 3-abreast team to pull a 10,000-lb steam pumper for the Victoria Day parade alongside Remi and Sampson. We love that he is always ready to jump into “work mode” and give every job his absolute best!

Meet Maggie, our endearing Shire mare with a heart of gold! 🐴

To the Tally-Ho team and her adoring fans, she is known for her sweet disposition and is always the first to greet you at the fence.

Maggie loves her work as a carriage horse and approaches each day with great enthusiasm! We spend quite a bit of time caring for her long, luscious forelock, mane, and tail!

Like the Clydesdale, the Shire horse is a rare breed with fewer than 1,500 registered worldwide, and we're proud to play a part in their preservation.

🐴 Say hello to the magnificent "Aird Louis" (Louie, for short), a registered Clydesdale gelding with a heart as big as his hooves! Born in Great Britain, Louie made his way to our farm and into our hearts last year after doing some traveling through New Mexico, Montana, and Washington.

He's quickly become a cherished Tally-Ho Carriage Tours family member, showing off his unique colouring and gentle personality. Louie made his Tally-Ho debut in the Spring of 2024, and is quickly gaining a local fan base! 💖

🐴 From farm chores to harbour tours, Jinx is our beloved Percheron gelding who joined the Tally-Ho herd in December 2017. Jinx came to us from Alberta where he helped with farm chores - now, he’s been a showstopper in and around Victoria's beautiful inner harbour since 2018. Jinx's kindness captured our hearts instantly!

He is shy but has become used to the affection from our team and adoring fans and might even let you snap a photo or two!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our most beloved horses, Tucker 💔

Tucker was truly one of a kind, and his absence is deeply felt by all of us here at Tally-Ho. Known for his beautiful blue roan coloring, which would change with the seasons, Tucker was a show-stopping beauty who brought joy to so many.

He wasn’t just special because of his looks—Tucker was a horse full of enthusiasm and heart. His eagerness to work was unmistakable, and you could always see it in his step when he was downtown. Whether pulling carriages during Seacider tours, Halloween or Christmas Tucker was always our first choice for special events. He was brave, strong, and steady—a reliable presence that made every event special.

Tucker also had a special role in helping new drivers prove their skills. He was incredibly safe to drive, but his lively spirit required careful handling, which taught our drivers so much. His eagerness and sensitivity endeared him to everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

This has been a tough year for us with many losses, and Tucker’s passing adds to the heartache. He was a cherished member of our herd, both in his working years and in his retirement, and his memory will live on with all of us who had the honor of knowing him.

We will miss you, Tucker ❤️ Thank you for the many years of joy and the countless memories you gave us. You were one of the best, and we will carry your spirit with us always.

A Clydesdale gelding born in 2005, Jerry joined the Tally-Ho Tours family in 2013 and has achieved Level 4 (Expert) in our horse development program! This means he is calm, reliable, and a true expert in new experiences.

Jerry is one of our in-house celebrities and when he’s not helping train new drivers, he’s representing Tally-Ho in parades and movies! Jerry is also a champion snoozer, and you’ll often find (and hear!) him napping in his hay pile (see our Facebook photos).
