We're experts in ensuring our horses are comfortable in Victoria's weather. Our horses' well-being is always our priority, so we take every step to keep them healthy and happy. 🌦️
When the weather turns bad, here's how we care for our horses:

☔ Horses have natural rain protection from their hair oils
🌲 We provide access to natural and man-made shelters and a warm barn where they can get out of the cold
💼 Horses are known to remain quite naturally comfortable in 5 degree C weather, so when the temperatures drop below that, we provide warm, rain-proof blankets to keep them warm

Our drivers are equipped with quality rain gear, and our carriages have roofs to keep guests dry. In extremely wet or cold conditions, we prioritise the comfort of our horses by cancelling tours to keep everyone warm and dry.

As a family-run business led by a mother-daughter team and supported by our amazing, hardworking staff, we’re united by one shared passion: caring for our incredible horses.

This year, we welcomed new horses and staff to the Tally-ho family, hosted guests from around the world, and celebrated our busiest cruise ship season since COVID. Our horses felt the love and support from each of you, and we’re so thankful for another year of creating memories together. Jerry 💖 It is always our honor to be part of wedding festivities, and what a fantastic parade this was! Our beautiful Clydesdale, Jerry, led the way, followed by 100 well-wishing guests! Our heartfelt congratulations to the bride and groom!

This morning 7 of the beautiful Tally-Ho horses welcomed guests from around the world to Victoria, BC! Meet King, Maisie, Louie, Sampson, Red, Spot and Jerry ❤️

Our beautiful draft horses are live, thinking animals who make their own choices and we simply follow their lead. This means that not every day goes to plan. When things go awry, as they can, our team is trained to manage unforeseen situations. Today our dear Shire mare, Maggie, didn’t appreciate an equipment malfunction and in her zest to shake it off, she had a moment of clumsiness. She slipped and fell, and then quickly got back to her feet. Uninjured. Maybe slightly embarrassed. 😛 Her driver immediately got her unharnessed and unhooked; and assessed her well being. Maggie is totally fine, and as per our safety protocols, is back at the farm, with her head buried in her food, as she loves to do. 🐴❤️ Big thanks to Maggie’s humans whose instincts were bang on, and always put the care and safety of the horses as their first priority! We love our Tally-Ho team of horse-lovers!!
