Chinatown Walks

Chinatown Walks Discover the history, architecture, culture, food and religion of Canada's oldest Chinatown.

Victoria's Chinatown has more heritage buildings than any other in North America, though their use has evolved over the years. Our tours take you to the places (alleys, streets, shops and even a working temple) that make Chinatown a fascinating and historic destination.

Chinese Victoria: A Long and Difficult Journey
by John Adams

At long last, I am pleased to let you know that my book Chinese Victoria (twenty years in preparation) is finished and copies are now available to buy. In the near future they will be available in local bookstores but in the meantime I am selling them directly.

If you would like to buy one in person, please drop around to my house on Sunday July 10 any time between 2:00–5:00 pm. I will be on the porch with a supply of books beside me and will be happy to sell you one and to autograph it, if you wish. I hope it will also be a time to catch up for a chat with as many of you as possible.

Address: 634 Battery Street
(In James Bay, near Mile Zero)

If you cannot come by on July 10, I’ll be pleased to reserve a copy for you to pick up at another time. Within Greater Victoria I’ll personally deliver the book at no extra charge.
