After a couple days of struggling and working hard for our bites the stars aligned for the afternoon tide ! Nice springs and a dandy coho in the mix. Thats a wrap on my Bamfield season and what a season it was!!! Next stop Pedder Bay , if you want to get out in Victoria- Sooke area shoot me a message but I’m sleeping for a few days 😆😆.
Rainy day bites ! It was feast or famine out there today .
When your 2012 9.9 Yamaha trolling motor decided to pack it in half way through the day have no fear just call Breakers Marine ! Pulled my boat at 1:30 and back in the water by 4 with brand new 20hp suzuki . Thanks so much to everyone at the Port Alberni and Bamfield stores for keeping me on the water ! .marine

Some stellar fishing and good times with this crew ! It started off in the first five minutes losing the biggest fish I’ve had on the line in years and never really stopped . Already looking forward to next year .
Zoe and her smiley she landed this morning!! Lots of bites and fish lost and caught all day . This beauty fell for a Gibbs Purple Mirror flasher and a bloody nose teaser head.
Another awesome couple days with Sarah and Kristy . They loaded up on Springs , Coho ,Halibut and good times .
The Baynes crew had a great couple days fishing !! Day one consisted of really rough water and lots of lost fish due to trying to stand up and reel but they got it done !! Day two saw the calmest day of the year and they made the fish pay lol .

Big bite big fish kinda day !!
It’s been another amazing week of fishing in Bamfield ! While the weather has been all over the place the fishing has not been . Ripper bites every morning and some of the best average size chinooks we’ve seen in June in years . Hope it continues , it sure makes for fun days and big smiles ! It’s hard to pick a top flasher lure combo because everything is working but I’d have to go with the Gibbs Bonchovy flasher and Chrome Bonchovy skinny g .
Meet Richard and Doreen Wambeke ! I first had the privilege of taking them out fishing for their 25 wedding anniversary in 1994 . Fishing in Langara at West Coast Fishing Club . We fished together a few times through to 2000 when I left the lodge life to continue with No Bananas . I was blown away and happy to hear from them last winter when they reached out about doing a 55 year anniversary fishing trip with me in Bamfield !! 24 years later we are fishing together again. Was so great catching up with the two of them and the excellent weather and fishing didn’t hurt either . Hope to see you guysagain next year !!! Mills Landing Cottages and Charters

Some incredible fishing the last couple days in Bamfield for this crew of first timers . They did great for their first time fishing ! Going home with full coolers , sore arms and stories to last a lifetime.

The Bamfield season kickoff Eagle Nook Derby was a great time as usual !! Pretty cool when you can catch nice fish this close to this beautiful lodge . We literally never left for three days . We ended up catching the biggest fish of the weekend and won the pre derby derby ! The Eagle Nook Crew really know how to run a good show . The evenings were full of friends ,fishing stories , good food , lots of drinks and some good hockey games .
