Kick off your Flavour Trails weekend on Saturday, August 17th at McTavish Academy of Art with the annual Flavour Trails Community Celebration!
This year's Celebration features a delicious pancake breakfast from 8:30 - 10:30am, zucchini racing, local food & vendors, live music, art, farm tours, and more.
Afterwards, Follow the Trails on August 17th & 18th and take self-guided tours of 18 trail stops featuring farm gates, markets, tours, tastings, and more.

The icon of aerial forest fighting 🛩️💙 The Hawaii Martin Mars is catching its final flight above Greater Victoria this Sunday, August 11th, for a once-in-a-lifetime event featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds!
This impressive water bomber was part of the decades-old Mars program, treasured for helping fight forest fires across Canada. The Hawaii Mars is the largest of its kind in the world, being able to drop more than 25,000 liters of water on each run.
For its flight route with the Snowbirds, the Hawaii Mars will pass over several BC forests to commemorate its time fighting fires, and to celebrate the forest industry's unique Martin Mars water bomber program that has saved countless lives and ecosystems.
The public is invited to witness this momentous occasion on Sunday, August 11th, approximately between 6pm to 6:30pm along the east coast of the Island near Sidney. After this, it will be moved to its "forever home" at the British Columbia Aviation Museum as a new crown jewel. 👑

Also known as the Malahat Building, this is the oldest federal building of its kind still standing in Western Canada. Along with serving the import and export trade for the Port of Victoria (at the time, the busiest centre on the west coast!), this is where mining licenses for the Klondike gold rush were administered.
