Yesterday’s trip was first time salmon fishing on the ocean for this couple. They had a blast hooking into some decent size chinook. Lots of coho action as well. Released a bunch of wild coho also. Fishing with Luhr Jensen Mooching Reel and Legacy Mooching Rod

This crew of Jamaican 🇯🇲 Ex Pats now living in Calgary drove out specifically to go fishing today. We waited till the winds subsided and ran down to Sandheads to complete their limit of Chinook!!

This crew came out last year with me and got one coho between them. It was awesome to see them get rewarded today on a full day Gulf Islands trip. Luhr Jensen Blue Magoo flashfly was the winning lure!!

Chinook fishing is picking up in local waters. It's a mix of retention and release depending where we are fishing. September 1st most of our local areas open for a retention of 2 per day and a minimum size of 62cm. We still have mid week dates available throughout September. These youngsters enjoyed getting on a school of coho on the tide change this morning. Some great coho action for a couple of hours then it got quiet and we scratched out a few bites the last half of the trip.

Father son fishing trip today!! Putting in a full day paid off for these guys. We also caught a couple of hatchery coho that will be on the bbq tonight!! Our setup was a blue magoo flash fly with a chartreuse UV flasher.
