Who loves country music? I do! Our theme this year was Beacon and the Wild Wild West and I think I rocked it! So much great music to dance to like Mountain Music by Alabama! Meet Beacon the Beaver

Beacon the Beaver is the official mascot for Beacon’s Furry FUNdation Society and Kizzmit Tourism.

Beacon the Beaver’s Grandpa always told him stories when he was little of swimming the lakes in the Kizzmit region and how there were so many bodies of water that a beaver could never get bored living in the pristine valley, full of lakes, and rivers, in amongst some of the

tallest mountains in beautiful British Columbia. In the summer they had a channel in Penticton or lazy river in Armstrong, to float down and soak up the sun. Grandpa’s face lit up when he told Beacon about his legendary friend beneath the waters in Okanagan Lake that locals had called him the Ogopogo but he called him Ogi and they were the best of friends swimming together. He always had to keep a look out for Ogi to protect him and keep his location a secret. He hoped Beacon could live there when he got older and meet Ogi, but he had to remember that his resting place was always secret and to make sure he was never followed if he went to visit.

Beacon dreamed of the pristine waters of BC and when he finally was able to visit in 2018, he saw that his Grandpa did not exaggerate. There were trees everywhere that he could never go hungry and the lakes were like glass so smooth to swim in and when he wanted a little adventure there were so many things to do, swimming in the lakes and rivers, zip-lining
