Not everyday we have a moose 🫎 on the loose downtown! 😳Surprising, considering moose out number people in the Yukon.

Conservation officers are currently on scene in downtown Whitehorse after receiving reports of a moose in the area near 5th Avenue and Hanson St.

In a coordinated effort with Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Yukon, conservation officers deterred the moose from the area and have moved it across the road to the green space along the clay cliffs.

Motorists travelling through the area are asked to please slow down, drive carefully, remain alert and be prepared to stop. Trail users are asked to consider alternate routes, be vigilant and keep pets leashed.

Conservation officers are continuing to encourage it away from the urban area and will be monitoring the movements of this animal as it passes through. Please respect the animal’s space and keep away from the area.

If you see the moose, please give it plenty of space and report it to the TIPP line at 1-800-661-0525.
