The perfect spot to unwind and laugh after a fun day of swimming and being outside at the cottage ☀️ When we were creating this space, we wanted it to feel warm and inviting, a comfy place to land after a fun summer day. This room feels nostalgic like a real vintage cottage.

The best place to lounge is on our deck overlooking the bay! When we planned the cottage, one thing was very important, we could sleep 7 guests so we needed 7 places to sit at every gathering place in the cottage. So throughout the cottage, you’ll find the living room, dining room, outdoor lounge area, outdoor eating space and fire pit all have at least seating for 7 because being together at the cottage is what cottage life is all about 🤍

Do you ever just have a pinch me moment? A moment that stops you in your tracks and reminds you to be thankful, to be grateful and to look around at what you’ve created. It’s truly amazing to see how far our cottage has come, mind you we could never imagined the amount of work we constantly have to put in. We were just a couple of kids, wanting to take on a project during COVID with a budget that’s zero dollars but a family that truly believes in our ability. This is what we’ve created, The Bluewater Cottage ✨ If you’ve watched us from the beginning or you’re new here, thanks for being here. We are grateful.

We get asked all the time about the swimming conditions at the cottage and we have to say, it’s pretty much perfect. We do have a rock beach which some see as a flaw but we don’t! A rock beach means no weeds and crystal clear water. The water is a shallow gradual entry which is perfect for small kids, kayaking and floating. The cottage is on Georgian Bay so it does get really deep which makes it the perfect spot go to shore diving! There is truly nothing better than that. In July, August and September the water is such an amazing temperature. Last year, we took 3 days to spend time at the cottage and every single minute we played in the water. We are booking for 2024! ✨

We have 120ft of rock beach. For some people, the rocks are not appealing because people think they are sharp. But they actually aren’t sharp and with a pair of water shoes the rocks are actually great. A rock bottom is actually much cleaner than a sand bottom. The rocks clean the water so there’s no seaweed that grows and the water is crystal clear! Moral of this story: bring water shoes for your cottage stay! 🌊👟

We know stuff goes wrong when having a short term property rental but it’s disheartening to have to replace many things every single time we come up.
