What do breast milk, liquid medication and distilled water (for CPAP devices) have in common?

These are all considered essential liquids that can be carried through security screening in quantities larger than the 100ml limit.

They are exempted from the 100ml liquid limit and do not have to go into your 1L plastic bag. However, you will need to declare these items to the screening officer at the checkpoint and remove them from your carry-on bag for inspection.

Travelling with a small pet through security?
If you’re going on vacation with your furry friend, here is what you can expect at the checkpoint:
1. Inform the screening officer that you are travelling with your pet.
2. During screening, you will need to remove your pet from its carrying case so the carrier can be screened separately.
3. You will need to hold your pet or put in on a leash.
4. Do not put your pet carrier in a bin or place it on the rollers to the x-ray machine with your pet inside it.
5. The screening officer will conduct an explosive trace detection swab on you, and your animal will also need to be screened.

Did you know you can bring baby food, milk and liquid formula in quantities greater than 100ml in your carry-on for infants under 24 months?

Packing powdered formula? Some granular materials are limited to a total quantity of 350ml or less in your carry-on, so placing it in checked baggage is best. We also recommend avoiding metal-lined containers when traveling with this item.

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. At CATSA, we are committed to listening and to improving our knowledge and understanding about the rich history and cultures of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
