Jerome and Ozzy rocking in the New Year!

Hopefully y'all had a fun and safe evening last night. Once you've knocked off the day's cobwebs, it's the perfect time to start new habits. I encourage you to make the most of the time you're given.... do that thing you've been putting off.

You got this.

Cheers to 2025 👻👊

Our Lucky 17th Year of Valley Ghost Walks officially came to a close the week before Christmas with a private, small walk for 13 brave staff from the Oak Island Resort on the South Shore.

We were rolling the dice in terms of weather as I believe it was the latest outdoor walk we've ever had in a season. We had an indoor location lined up, but there's no beating the ghostly ambiance of Wolfville's Old Burial Grounds at night. Jerome the Gravekeeper is a big fan of long johns, I hope they figured that out as well.

Jerome asked them if they knew if their mysterious island would reopen this upcoming year for tours... but it's not looking positive. Come on!! We've all been waiting so patiently.

Thanks to the very popular TV show, the global demand to set foot on this legendary Nova Scotia landmark continues to grow. There's an international interest in Nova Scotia folklore... let's give the people what they want!

Regardless of their decisions, I know this much. Valley Ghost Walks will be back next year for our Lucky 18th season! In fact, based on the tremendous success of this season, we're way further ahead with the planning of next year. So long as the ghosts keep returning, Jerome is willing to keep at it.

Once again, we'll be performing, essentially, every second Thursday from Apple Blossom until Halloween with a few extra special shows thrown in for good measure. Keep following us for all updates.

We haven't run the numbers from this season yet, but we will shortly. I reckon it was our best season yet.

Thank you for your continued interest and support, and thank you for Issac Chipman, who gave us all another captivating tutorial at the back of the burial grounds

Don't forget, no matter the season or the location, we're always available for hire. Private Ghost Walks are a wonderful staff party activity. Thanks for thinking of us, Oak Island Resort!

Last month, with the help of the Kentville Business Community, our public Ghost Walk season came to a close with a special Ghost Talk at a new location, the White Family Funeral Home.

sponsored the show, making things free to the public with sign-ups (40 attended). The weather wasn't ideal, so instead of being outside in front of their Memory Lane Mural, we set up inside their large garage with hot chocolate and coffee. We were surrounded by modern and historic hearses and sleighs, some built in the 1800s across the road at the Nova Scotia Carriage Company (the original NSCC). Thank you for setting things up so perfectly and for sharing some of your family history,

Another guest speaker, Gary Ness, spoke of the fascinating history of the Dominion Atlantic Railway. Nothing changed life in the Valley like the arrival of the train in 1868/1869, and Kentville was home to its headquarters. Gary is the authority of all things DAR, so Jerome was thrilled to finally work with him. Thank you, , for agreeing to be part of the ghostly fun.

Another guest speaker was Laura Churchill, who read from her newest book, Footprints in the Snow, which is about Peter Wheeler, a convicted murderer in Bear River. has been a huge supporter of Valley Ghost Walks over the years. In fact, she originally wrote the Kentville shows.

Yes, there used to be 2 distinct Kentville Ghost Walks, the downtown walk, and one in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Although the cemetery isn't too safe to walk around in the dark, I can see a reserection of a second ghostly performance of the Devil's Half Acre in 2025. There's enough history, plenty of ghosts, and a perfect location to create something brand new.

Speaking of new ghosts, Abraham Gesner, the inventor of kerosene, who has a monument in Chipman's Corner, made his Kentville debut. Thank you, , for bringing this fascinating person to life.

Thank you to all the other ghosts for your talents and deadication:

This was our second last show off our Lucky 17th Season. So much fun!

T'was the annual Get Unscrooged event at the Wolfville Farmers Market a few weekends ago... and it was, once again, record setting!

Valley Ghost Walks has been asked to help sell tickets to the event since 2010. Jerome parks himself at the front doors while the rest of the summoned ghosts and market staff sell tickets throughout the busy Saturday morning market.

The money goes towards the Wolfville Food Bank and the Nourishing Communities Program facilitated by the WFM. Tickets this year were $5 for one, or $20 for five, and I think this extra little deal encouraged extra sales. The winner this year, Jackie Henry, who is known to the market, received a gift basket of market goodness from the various vendors worth between $1300-$1400! It's a pretty sweet thing to receive this time off year specifically.

Thank you to the vendors who contributed to the basket.
Thank you to the ghosts who volunteered their time.
Thank you to Kelly-Marie and her team at the WFM for continuing to run this program.
Thank you to the community for buying tickets and for contributing to these very needed programs.

Here are the numbers:

2024 - $2645
2023 - $2400+
2022 - $1792
2021 - $1582
2020 - Covid
2019 - $1160
2018 - $1121
2017 - $1175
2016 - $1200
2015 - $1112
2014 - $1250
2013 - $1500+
2012 - $1150
2011 - $873
2010 - $623

$19583+ total!

I dig it!
Thanks for asking us to be involved.

A few shots from the very memorable Ghost Talk at the North Grand Pre Community Church on Thursday.

It was moody.
It was perfect.

Thank you to the members of the North Grand Pre Community Church Association for believing in us and for making us feel welcomed.

There was no heat.
There was no power.
All 19 brave souls were bundled up, and the small, one-room, 1861 church was illuminated with tea lights from our lanterns.
Let's do it again!

Who knows what the winter season will bring, but Jerome likes the notion of cold theater. Bundle up, and hear the sermon... as they used to.

We haunt the White Family Funeral Home property tomorrow evening, 7pm. It's a free show, sponsored by ...and it's Sold Out!

This has been our best season yet.
Thank you for your continued interest in the most historicaly-rich, amazing Valley in all of North America!

We've been booked again!

Our 18th, and most likely, final performance of the season takes place this week Friday, in Kentville.

And, I'm thrilled to say, it's SOLD OUT.
Well, it is a free event, and registration was needed, and we've reached capacity.
Still, 'sold-out' sounds pretty good.

It'll be the first time haunting Memory Lane on the White Family Funeral Home property, in between their two large white buildings. It's a special place, with beautiful paintings of the numerous historical buildings that used to be throughout Kentville. This'll be a sit-down (on hay bales), stationary, Ghost Talk lasting for at least an hour and a half.

Also, thrilled to say, if the weather is uncooperative, the show will go on INSIDE the White Family Funeral Home garage. Either way, 3 or 4 historical pieces of equipment will be on display, including a 1929 firetruck, death carriage, sleigh, and wagon. There will also be hot chocolate and coffee available to warm you up.

Thank you, , for sponsoring this event along with all the other fun things you have planned for the Friday, November 22, Holly Days Festival!

Tonight, we haunt the North Grand Pre Community Church. The historic fun starts at 7:45pm sharp.

Over 20 tickets have been spoken for thus far, which is wonderful.... but it's actually well shy of this year's average of 42 brave souls. We've never had a season with such a high turnout.

Tonight's lineup is brand new, with lots of new content....including for myself. In 17 years of Valley Ghost Walks, I've never been anyone other than Jerome the Gravekeeper. Well, tonight changes that... wish me luck.

Oh, and as of yesterday, there was no power in the church. Sooo, the ambiance will be perfect for a Ghost Talk. Wear your long johns and bring a pillow for those pews. Tonight will be special.

Thank you to the outstanding lineup of talent Jerome was able to summon... this Valley is rich.

Although Jerome the Gravekeeper was haunting down the Valley in Greenwood this night, Rupert Pup Davis was still able to represent Valley Ghost Walks at the latest Broken Leg Theatre at the Al Whittle Theatre.

Thank you, Gar, for your ghostly talents.
Thank you, Donna, for continuing to promote local talent.
Valley Ghost Walks loves being a part of these fun evenings.

Cheers to our Lucky 17th Season.

As per usual, Halloween had Valley Ghost Walks haunting Wolfville, and everything worked out well. 38 brave souls attended, and the weather was very favourable.

Normally, the Halloween Walk concludes the season, but two more November performances are planned. The first one is tomorrow night at the North Grand Pre Community Church, and the second, in Kentville, is yet to be announced.

As for tomorrow night, the fun starts at 7:45pm within this super cute little church on the way to Evangeline Beach. 4 new ghosts will be unveiled, a book reading from a local author, a NS Music Week musician, and Dr. Ian Spooner of Acadia University and The Curse of Oak Island! We are very excited for this one.

There's still lots of tickets left. Find them on Valleyghostwalks.com, or come with cash before the show.

Cheers to our best season yet. Thank you for your continued interest in our local history.

There's something special a' brewing this week Thursday, November 14, 7:45pm, at the North Grand Pre Community Church.

We'll be haunting this super cute church for the first time, and we'll be doing it in style. 4 new ghosts will be unveiled, a local author will do a brief book reading, a Nova Scotia Music Week artist will be filling the Church with her talents, and Dr. Ian Spooner from Acadia University and the Curse of Oak Island will all be sharing his secrets.

A good handful of tickets have been sold, but there's still lots of room for you!

THIS JUST IN.... if you share this post within the next 24 hours, you'll be in the running for a free ticket. The ValleyEvents winner has told me that they don't have anyone to bring. So, there's a free ticket to be had.

Cheers to our Lucky 17th Season of Valley Ghost Walks! This is still so much fun...especially when we can unveil new content!

Happy Halloween from Jerome the Gravekeeper and Valley Ghost Walks!

Tonight, we close our scheduled Ghost Walking Season with a final stroll through Wolfville. The fun starts at the Clocktower at 7:45pm.

In two weeks, we'll be haunting the North Grand Pre Community Church, where we'll be unveiling some new content. That'll be a Ghost Talk, which is stationary, and therefore different than a Ghost Walk. I'm thrilled to say, Dr. Ian Spooner from Acadia, and the Curse of Oak Island, will be joining us that evening.

As for the little munchkins posted above, these gals are Girl Guides from Kentville, and, I have to say, they were amazing. Inquisitive, smart, respectful, and into learning about our remarkable history! Seriously, Jerome has performed for little ones in the past, and it's harder than adults. This crew, though... if they asked Jerome to sell cookies, I would help.

Thank you to the ghosts who took on two roles each that evening: &

This evening looks like it's going to be stunning, just like this glorious day. If you don't have Halloween plans, come join us in Wolfville.

25 brave souls attended last week's Ghost Walk in Windsor. Jerome awoke to the news that Sam Slick wasn't able to attend, so we made a plan and continued with the show. Ghosts do call in sick at the last minute, Gravekeepers often have a few things to juggle.

The evening was perfect... on the chilly side, but dry and not windy. The Blockhouse was illuminated thanks to the (thank you). Look how it pops in the last picture.

Thank you to the ghosts .dauph .richard
Jerome is fortunate to be surrounded by such talent.

Thank you as well to the Mermaid Theatre for allowing us into your wonderful theater once again. Please check out their upcoming Performaning Arts Series, including the comedian, Brent Butt!

There's now only two more Ghostly performances scheduled this season. This week, Thursday, Halloween, in Wolfville & Thursday, November 14 at the North Grand Pre Community Church... where new content will be unveiled.

Thank you again for your continued interest and support in Valley Ghost Walks. Cheers to our Lucky 17th Season!

Last week, 79 brave souls followed Jerome the Gravekeeper through the streets of Kentville. T'was the last public Ghost Walk through the Devil's Half Acre of our Lucky 17th Season.

The energy created with such a crowd is so very memorable...thank you for giving Jerome the feels. Your interest in our incredible history warms his cold heart.

Check out the incredible Memory Lane artwork found on the White Family Funeral Home property. Kentville has lost so many stunning buildings over the years. Don't get Jerome started...

Thank you to the talented ghosts:

This was our 3rd season in a row taking our show to them. Widow Muse told tales of this gorgeous cemetery, while Jerome's ghostly friends recounted their stories of bravery, forerunners, tragedy, and murder.

Thank you to the Church of the Nazarene for allowing us into your facility for the last tales of the evening. I reckon the 35 brave souls appreciated your hospitality as well.

Join us tomorrow night for the last Windsor Ghost Walks of the season. The fun starts up at the Blockhouse at 7:45pm. Around 10 brave souls have prepurchased on Valleyghostwalks.com already while

Sadly, our Lucky 17th Season is coming to a close.

We only have three more public (and one private) performances left this season. Join us this week Thursday in Windsor, next week Thursday (Halloween) in Wolfville, and, for the first time ever, the North Grand Pre Community Church on Thursday, November 14.

We'll be unveiling new content in November. Jerome, the Gravekeeper is very excited to be able to do more with our family-friendly, historical productions in the most historicaly-rich, amazing Valley in all of North America!

Tickets in advance online Valleyghostwalks.com
Or, cash-only at the door.

This has honestly been our best season yet as we've been averaging over 40 brave souls per show. We're thrilled! Thank you for continuing to support our efforts.
