On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Litens participated in the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Speed Networking event, connecting with top engineering students and showcasing the company as an employer of choice. The event gave students a chance to engage with companies like Litens in timed sessions, allowing them to meet several potential employers in one evening. Afterward, there was an open networking period where students could revisit employers, they were particularly interested in. Representing Litens at the event were Dion Matias, Electronics Designer, and Arthur Lu, Product Designer.

Students were excited to learn more about the company’s focus on sustainability, cutting-edge technology, and employee growth. Arthur Lu and Dion Matias shared how their Litens co-op experience shaped their engineering skills through impactful projects. The evening was a great success for Litens, leaving many students excited about the opportunities the company offers.

We had an amazing time at the MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers Conference 2024! Litens team showcased its cutting-edge EV solutions, including the , , , and Battery.

Our fully electric Ford eRanger, converted with LitensPower technology, was a major highlight. The Litens team delivered an exclusive presentation where Alonso Enriquez provided a comprehensive Litens overview, Sean Kieran shared the details into the LitensPower battery pack and Patryk Bernacki highlighted our advanced thermal management solutions.

Team had engaging discussions with representatives from General Motors, Scout Motors, Ford Motor Company, Volkswagen, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, and others, exploring potential collaborations and sharing insights on the future of the automotive industry.

Sean also joined a panel discussion on "Accelerating Electrification: Advances in Lithium-Ion Battery Technology for Automotive and Commercial Applications" alongside Simon Buderath (P3) and Steve Pekarcik (Zeon Chemicals), moderated by Hannah Lutz (Automotive News). We had interviews with our leaders, including Prasad Atluri (VP of Innovation), Vikas Sherwal (VP of Purchasing), Jeff Longeway (Director of Sales), Sean Kieran (Chief Engineer) and Zeeshan Qadri (Global Marketing Manager).

The conference emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in the automotive industry, aligning with Litens' commitment to environmentally responsible solutions. Some of the important conference highlights are as follows:

Litens Canada had a fantastic time hosting grade 9 students for Take Our Kids to Work Day today! From ice-breaking activities to hands-on experiences, the day was filled with learning and exploration.
Highlights included:
🔧 A tour of our manufacturing facility where students saw robots in action
🌱 Insights from our Sustainability team on Litens' environmental initiatives
🤖 A STEM activity where students built their own solar-powered robots
🔍 A demonstration of Litens' advanced Quality Assurance Process

From October 7 - 11, 2024, Litens Canada hosted an incredible Global Sustainability Week filled with eco-friendly activities for our sustainability team and employees. The Litens Canada sustainability team, including Peter Frey, VP Sustainability, Vinay Soni, Sustainability Manager, Oiza Ukanah, Sustainability Analyst, and Don Chambers, Technical Specialist, welcomed the global sustainability team to join the celebration.

We were thrilled to have Sorin Dinca, Facilities Manager at Litens Romania, Madeline Mueller, Sustainability Analyst at Litens Germany, Jessica Ximenes, Quality Analyst at Litens Brazil, Aida Soto, Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist at Industrias Dolz, and Núria Arquimbau, EHS Manager at Industrias Dolz, visit us during the week.

The week kicked off with employees sharing their sustainable stories and DIY projects. We also organized a fun poster design contest and launched a sustainability comic for employees' children.
A Wellness Yoga Session was held to promote mental and physical health, and a sustainability information booth was set up to spread awareness. Employees received eco-friendly swag bags and reminder cards on sustainable living.

We recorded an insightful podcast with Dr. Andrzej Baryluk on plant-based foods and vascular health, followed by a lunch and learn session attended by over 100 employees. The podcast is available on our sustainability page.

Employees tested their sustainability knowledge in a fun Kahoot session, and we partnered with Ferguson Nurseries to supply Norway Spruce Sapling Trees at a discounted price, resulting in 278 trees ordered. Doug Loxton, Senior Machine Designer, Manufacturing Operations at Litens also gave a great gardening session.

The week included information sessions, plant and supplier tours, and fun activities like team dinners, a visit to the Distillery District, and a trip to Niagara Falls. The event was a big success, receiving positive feedback and demonstrating the benefits of hosting such initiatives for Litens.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated! We look forward to more global sustainability initiatives in the future.

New research from Geotab indicates that EV batteries are degrading at a slower rate than previously thought. This is great news for fleet operators and EV owners alike!

- EV batteries are now degrading at an average rate of 1.8% per year, down from 2.3% in 2019.
- At this rate, EV batteries could last more years, exceeding the typical lifespan of a vehicle.
- Longer battery life translates to significant cost savings for fleets and individuals.
- Telematics data can provide valuable insights into battery health and degradation, helping fleets optimize EV usage.

EV battery life is affected by a few key things: hot climates can cause faster degradation, frequent DC fast charging can shorten lifespan, and liquid-cooled batteries generally outperform air-cooled ones.

Litens participated in a Tree Planting Campaign, organized by Tree Canada on National Tree Day in Mississauga. A total of 7 employees participated and planted over 27 trees collectively.
Tree Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments, in every province across Canada. They have planted over 84 million trees since 1992 with the support of sponsors and planters like Litens.

Litens is committed to being a socially responsible corporate citizen. We are committed to supporting sustainable initiatives to create a better future for our communities and future generations.
