AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH TATA GONDA RELIGION
We’re guiding an anthropologist of religion for a couple of weeks tour to explore the Congo still authentic religions, tribes and people lives. It was a great honor to be welcomed in the Tata Gonda Land.
The religion name itself comes after the late Tata Gonda who accepted in 1989 the God’s call to dress in “Sac” (a special type of packaging used for goods) that symbolize “humiliation”. The believers live in a so organized community with mandatory field work, praying all six hours, first for the world and then for themselves and their relatives. People dressed in sac always sleep outside and never wash with water. They wash their bodies with ashes from burned palm tree leaves. This religion is not only used as a treatment for sins but also as a medication. After praying for sick, foolish people and all kind of needy, people are immersed into a holy water from a lake “created by God” for the benefit of his people. Three rules guides this religion : Respect to God Tata Gonda, respect to the responsible of the religion, and respect to the state.
We started meeting the head of church, attended their prayer for the world which is an intimate time with the God Tata Gonda to have mercy for the whole world. During this prayer, expression of emotions are immensely visible as it appears on the following images. We also had several other activities to which we invite the lovers of authentic cultures and religions to discover during our next trips next year. Not only that we ended attending all their ceremonies, but also, we were honored by visiting the holy mausoleum where rest for eternity the God Tata Gonda.
