We are available for full chalet rental, or individual rooms in the guesthouse. snoconnells are based in an amazing 5 bedroom chalet in Engelberg. We are mountain people, and love to explore the terrain in both summer and winter. The chalet has many spectacular views of the ever changing Obwalden Alps, from every room. reland we have called Switzerland home for 5 years and Engelberg for over 2 years. Both of us are design lovers and love both beautiful and practical things. We have both explored many different parts of the world, both living and traveling, and our design tastes are an infusion of curious design and travel. A combination of alpine and global. But somehow, it works. There are 5 bedrooms in total. We have 3 double bedrooms, family room which sleeps 4. Our last room has two single beds. The chalet is mostly rented to large groups in winter and bnb style in summer. But please do get in touch as we are flexible and try accommodate everyones needs. Engelberg is easily accessible but public transport. Check out the Swiss Train website here, to help plan your route: www.sbb.ch If you arrive by train, car, bicycle or by foot, we are easily reached within a few minutes walk, or drive from the center of town and Engelberg trains station. Just 15 minutes walk from Engelberg main train station, and we are located on the way in to Engelberg itself just off the main road. If you are arriving by train, pick up from the train station can be arranged.

General information

The Chalet: Our chalet is located off street level on top of a small hill in a beautiful hamlet of 8 houses. We have elevator access between the hours of 6am and 10 pm. Outside of these hours there are two external stairs (about 50 steps) which can access our little hill. We have one stairs from the car park and one on the town side of the hill. The area around the house is safe for kids, as they cannot escape! And there is no passing traffic. Great for the little summer explorer. What about Engelberg? Engelberg is the jewel of Central Switzerland. Only 1 hour from Zurich, Engelberg promises to deliver some of the most easily accessible, spectacular and impressive alpine scenery in the region. In the words of William Wordsworth: When first mine eyes beheld that famous hill The sacred Engelberg, celestial bands, With intermingling motions soft and still, Hung round its top, on wings that changed their hues at will. What to do while you are here: Autumn is upon us, so watch the spectacular colour event of the local trees turning from green to gold, and deep red. The mountains are amazing during any season, and never fail to impress. In winter and spring, we have access to some of the best piste and freeride skiing in Switzerland. Just 12 minutes walk from the base station, take advantage of Engelberg's new gondola (Opens December 2015) for a super fast ride up the mountain, before taking the rotating cable car to the top of Titlis. In the Summer, we have direct access to some of the walking trails which Engelberg and the surround areas have to offer. Explore and walk to Lake Trubsee, or stroll into the center of town in just 15 minutes. Engelberg has so much to offer in the summer time.
