Last winter I travelled to the sun with the famous Bernina Express. This train takes you over the highest alpine crossing by rail. And on the south side a stunning descent from 2254m all the way down to Tirano Italy at only 438m!

Spring is in the air!
The winter is still around high in the mountains. But, slowly but steadily, spring is creeping up. What does that mean? Well as the temperature down in the valley is always higher than higher up in the mountains, spring starts earlier in the valleys. So this time of the year you will see flowers and green grass in the valley but still snow covered peaks blending in the sunlight. This makes for a perfect scenery! This is also a great time to travel jus before the summer crowds appear.

We are experiencing difficult times with the terrible war going on in the Ukraine. Jungfrau Tours is well aware of the tragedy taking place. We support the Ukrainian people!

And yet, we advise to come to Switzerland and enjoy the beauty of the country. We will donate an amount from our receipts to the aid programs.

Good news - Switzerland lifted travel restrictions!
The government lifted almost all of the Covid restrictions. No vaccination or negative test required for entering Switzerland. Only the mask mandate in public transportation and health institutions are still in place.

So now is a good time to book one of our tours! We expect a great demand thus for the best choice an early booking is reccomended!

The famous Mount Rigi Cog Railway celebrated its 150th anniversary. It is the oldest cog railway in Europe second only to Mount Washington in New Hampshire, USA. Last July I already inspected the renovated locomotiven Nr. 7, built in 1873, the only locomotive with vertical boiler in operation! Last weekend I had the opportunity to ride "in the basket".
