Lake Blausee - Hidden Gem of Switzerland

Hello summer - hello sunshine - let's go swimming!😎⛱️

Switzerland has penty of magnificen lakes to discover (more than 1500).
A very special one you should definitely not miss out is lake Blausee. 🐳🌊

One of the most famous mountain lakes in Switzerland and a popular excursion destination for locals and tourists alike. VERY INSTA FRIENDLY 🥰

This tiny lake with a size of only 0.64 ha is nestled in an almost fairytale-like, protected forest area between Kandergrund in the north and Kandersteg in the south.

Since lake Blausee is fed by underground springs, its water is crystal clear and you can usually see the bottom of the lake, although it is sometimes more than 12 meters underwater. 💎✨

Walking trails lead right through the park and well-maintained barbecue and picnic areas are available to day trippers. You can also float across the lake on a glass-bottomed boat.

Sechseläuten 2023 - Zurich’s Spring Festival⛄🔥

The Sechseläuten (translated "The six o'clock ringing of the bells") is just around the corner!📯 This yearly spring festival in Zurich traditionally celebrates the beginning of spring. The parade features the procession of guilds, numerous bands, horses, flowers, flags and most importantly the burning of a snowman figure called „Böögg". ⛄️

The Böögg, which symbolizes Winter, is a straw figure several meters tall, set alight just before the six o'clock bell rings in the Grossmünster church. According to lore, the faster the Böög's head explodes the more lovely the following summer will be.
