Cosa Quiz 🌍: Although little is known about this period, it is believed that the Cape Town region was populated between 12,000 and 15,000 years ago. In 1487, the first European explorer arrived in the region. What country was this voyager from?

Answer: The Portuguese Bartolomeu Dias circumnavigated southern Africa and the Cape of Good Hope in 1487. His explorations demonstrated the flow of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans into one another, as well as showing that the Indian Ocean is not a land-locked region, as previously believed. The journey to India by Vasco da Gama was made possible by Dias' discovery.

Happy Easter weekend everyone! 🐣 Easter is a holiday celebrated all over the world. While some people may observe Easter traditions such as tracking the Easter bunny or decorating Easter eggs, there are a plethora of other ways to mark the holiday around the globe. Here is a selection:
🇧🇲 Bermuda's Good Friday kites. In Bermuda, a traditional Easter celebration sees locals flying homemade kites of all shapes and sizes on the beaches and in the parks.
🇵🇱 Poland's butter lambs. In Poland, it's customary to make a butter sculpture of a lamb as a centrepiece for the Easter table. The butter is usually moulded into the shape of a lamb with a red flag on a stick placed on its back.
🏴 Scotland’s Easter egg rolling competition. Scottish families take part in an egg-rolling contest on Easter Sunday. Decorated eggs are brought to the local park and rolled down a hill. The winner of the competition is the person whose egg rolls the farthest without breaking.
