Thomas's B-Big guitar is definitely the most flashy one among the three guitars of this Novembers "Build it Yourself Experience"!
He picked a "bear claw" Spruce top along with a highly flamed Californian Myrtle body and wanted it to be in high gloss, which makes the figure in the wood pop a lot more and adds a bit more clarity and focus to the overall sound. The bindings, bevels and the head plate are in Ziricote.
It truly turned out stunning, look and sound wise! After fine tuning the top and back frequency and bringing them into the right ratio to each other (which we do on all instruments), it really began to sing with very powerful, sweet, round and balanced voice that we were both very happy with! Polishing up that back and sides was also quite mesmerizing with this spectacular flamed figure!
Thank you Thomas for letting me help you build such a wonderful instrument and congratulations for all your hands on work on it! It's been a pleasure building this with and for you! :)

David came all the way from the US to build this beautiful B-Big Baritone 12-string during this November's "Build it Yourself Experience"! He decided to go with a Swiss Spruce top and paired it with a figured Black Walnut body and Gabon Ebony bindings. I don't build many 12-strings, but we were both very happy how it turned out all around; a simple beauty with a warm, yet sparkly, clear and nicely grumbling Baritone sound! It's a short Baritone scale though, only tuned down to D, which really seemed to be the sweet spot for this instrument :)

Thanks a lot David for taking part in this experience and congratulations on all your work on this beauty! It's been great fun building this with you! 😊

This is Hermann's B-Mighty offset sound hole fan-fret model which was built during this November's "Build it Yourself Experience". The B-Mighty is the Brunner "Jumbo" model that offers a deeper bigger sound without feeling too big in most hands due to its ergonomical shape with a slightly wedged body and wider arm bevel. Hermann chose to go for a Cedar top with an Indian Rosewood body with flamed Maple bindings which gives it this warmer, punchy and big sound. With the increased scale length on the bass side plus the offset sound hole design it offers an incredibly deep warm bass response without any lack on the treble side or on the overall balance. The tripple sound ports on the upper bout help to give it enough air to "breath" (with the offset hole up front being smaller) so it doesn't sound too compressed. Sound ports also serve as a monitor for the player and they are great to fine tune the body air frequency to avoid any "dead notes".
Like all "fixed neck" Brunner models also this has an easily adjustable neck connection for quick action adjustment.
Congratulations Hermann for all your work on this, it's been an exciting B-Mighty project to build you! :)

Another full and exciting year at Brunner Guitars is coming to its end and somehow it's been hard to keep you posted of what's all been going on... It was a year of a few new developments again and I'm excited to show you the results soon :)
I was also running four "Build it Yourself Experiences" and here some picts of this November's course where we built three unique acoustics, a B-Mighty fan-fret in Cedar/Rosewood, a B-Big 12-string in Spruce/Walnut and another B-Big in Spruce/Californian Myrtle. It's been fun! :)
I'll show the finished guitars in separate posts...

It was a happy day when Stefan Olejniczak, a brilliant guitar player I didn't know before, stopped by at Brunner Guitars a couple months ago and fell in love with this Cedar/Wenge B-Compact model! He was totally captured by its full, responsive, warm and balanced sound and fortunately he was also willing to have me record a few tunes! Have a listen and enjoy :)

Thanks a lot Stefan for your wonderful playing!

Here are the detailed picts of his guitars...

A couple months ago Stefan Olejniczak stopped by at our showroom to check out some guitars. He ended up buying another one though, but he also really loved the brighter responsive sound of this Swiss Spruce / European Walnut B-Compact model.
He was kind enough and excited to also do some demos for me on a couple of guitars and so here's the first one.

Thanks again Stefan! Your playing was wonderful! :)

Here are the details of this guitar, which is still available at this point ;)

And finally!!... Here is the third guitar from this Septembers "Build it Yourself Experience", which is the very first Brunner "real" electric guitar with the body shape I designed 10 years ago for Astha Guitars in India. After receiving more and more inquiries from people wanting to come build more of a strat-style electric guitar, I decided to take the step and also start offering this new B-Electric with a unique 6 in line headstock design.
This one was for Jürgen from Germany and he really wanted to get the most out of this!
Besides the cool vibrant color he also wanted to have a 24 fret neck that plays like butter with the 18th fret on the body and an Evertune bridge which literally doesn't allow the strings to go out of tune even after heavy bending! Check it out https://www.evertune.com/resources/introduction_to_evertune.phputm_source=website&utm_medium=internal&utm_campaign=header_e01
The guitar is built with a very light partially carved out Basswood body with a quilted Maple drop top, which really helped compensating for the fairly heavy Evertune bridge. The neck, as well as the bevels and bindings are in flamed Maple and the fretboard and Häussel Vin A2 Pick-up covers are in Ebony. The top and head plate are in high gloss that really make the Maple pop and the back of the body has a matt finish in contrast which gives it another nice touch.
I'm very excited how this one turned out and I'm looking forward to building more of these!
Congratulations Jürgen on all your work and your choices on this! It was a real pleasure to build this together with you and a true joy to hear you going wild on it when it was done! Looking forward to post that video as well 😎
Thanks again for letting me build this with you!

This is the second out of three really nice guitars that were built during this Septembers "Build it yourself Experience".
Tirui was very particular about certain ideas he had in mind for his B-Compact slim body Jazz model and one of them were these contoured binding sections instead of having my regular arm and cutaway "bevel" style I usually do, which would not have worked well with the F sound hole design of course. I really love how elegant these contours turned out and how comfortable they are!
The wood combination he selected was also a little out of the ordinary with a dark Sinker Redwood top and beautifully flamed European Walnut body and neck. It turned out really stunning, especially with the redish flamed Pear bindings!
Using a lighter acoustic guitar top instead of a figured hard wood top (like Maple or Walnut for example) really helps boosting the acoustic sound as well. It got a very lively and balanced resonance with also great sustain due to the small oval sustain block underneath the bridge which I always use on these models to connect the top and back. So it's lots of fun to play acoustically as well beside the awesome sound of the Häussel Vin A2 neck humbucker (splitttable) when plugged in!

Well done Tirui, congratulations on your choices and all the work you were able to do on it! 👍🏻 It was fun building this with you! 😊

And another striking Sinker Redwood top B-Compact model, this time paired with a gorgeous set of Gabon Ebony for back and sides! The high gloss finish really make it pop and it's just a real joy to only look at that guitar! Ebony is very hard and heavy which results in very transparent clear sound also at the strong low end with a wonderful sustain! The Sinker Redwood top adds a nice warm flavor to it and just gives it a very sweet super balanced sound!
These characteristics are really beneficial also for the exchangeable Baritone neck as Baritone guitars can tend to sound rather muddy in the lower frequencies when more mid-rangy lighter woods are used. This one just really rings its low grumbling voice with great definition and with endless sustain! Hard to put it down once you get into the groove...

Unfortunately the customer had to wait a few months longer than first anticipated because the new cases were not yet ready. He will be the first owner of the longer version of the new Brunner made hard shell case that also fits two necks! I'm pretty stoked how it turned out, yet it's quite the process making these and I'll have to again look for a cheaper additional option for gig bags... ;)

This is a B-Compact order that got canceled and I decided to do something a little different for a change in this deep ocean petrol color! 🙃
It's a Spruce top with a flamed Maple body, neck and bindings and it has a very powerful, beefy, clear yet warm balanced sound, I absolutely love how it turned out! Let me know if you're interested.

Here now some nice shots of Markus's B-Compact Slim Body Jazz model which got finished during this September's "Built it Yourself Experience"! Top, body and neck is all build from the same highly flamed Walnut tree and turned out as an absolut stunner!
It's equipped with the nice Häussel Humbuckers in Ebony and an additional LR Baggs under saddle acoustic pickup.
A super versatile electric guitar that is also great fun to play unplugged when others are asleep already ;)
Thank you again Markus for taking part in this experience and letting me help you build this beauty! Congratulations, great job on all your work!! 😎

And another round of the "Build it Yourself Experience" has passed this September! This time it was only two weeks with three people for electric models, two B-Compact Full-size Jazz slim bodies and the very first new Brunner Electric model that I don't even have a name for yet 🙃
It's the same body style I designed for the Astha Guitars years ago, but with a new 6 in line head stock design. I'll give you more specs on each model with the posts of the finished guitars.

This time only one Jazz model got totally finished as one person couldn't be part for the entire time and the new electric we couldn't totally finish because of the high gloss fronts, where the lacquer needed more time to harden.
But both customers will be back later this month to also be part of the final set up. I'm super excited to show you all the finished results, each one is stunning and very unique!

A warm THANK YOU to Jürgen, Markus und Tirui, it has been great fun and a pleasure building these together and congratulations for all your work on your beauties! 🙌😎

Here is a B-Compact Fullsize (with the easily removable neck) with a rustic Cedar top, a Wenge body and flamed Maple bindings and bevels.
Wenge is not a particularly striking wood in terms of appearance, pretty boring actually, but its sound properties some say are similar to Brazilian Rosewood and indeed, this guitar made a customer change his mind after playing and hearing it over an other model he actually planned to pick up :) Video is coming!

Here is a rather plain version of a B-Compact Full-size model with Swiss Spruce top, figured European Walnut body and flamed Sycamore bindings. This one has a clear, well balanced and punchy sound and is still available!
I'll be posting a video recording with a great player who has stopped by a few weeks ago.

Have you ever heard of Imbuia, also referred to as Brazilian Walnut? This is a South American hard wood with excellent sound properties and it often comes nicely figured!
I absolutely love how this B-Mighty turned out in Imbuia paired with a Red Cedar top and black colored Pear bindings/bevels. It's got a truly MIGHTY sound with a huge bass response, yet with a nice overall balance! Such an inspiring and fun instrument to play and it is still available!

Here's a unique 9-string B-Mighty with a Swiss Spruce top and a highly figured Italian Poplar body which has surprisingly similar sound properties as Maple. I absolutely love this 9-string concept with three single bass strings and three double trebles like on a 12 string guitar. The lesser string tension than a 12 string allows for a lighter and more resonant built top resulting in fuller sound. The single bass strings sound more powerful and defined and yet it does sound like a 12 string with those upper chorus strings. It's a very powerful, inspiring and fun guitar that you love to pick up and explore with! :)
The "B-Mighty" is the jumbo sized 17" Brunner guitar with a symmetrical top (equal with the 16" B-Big size) and the bass side of the body being pulled wider by the width of the bevel. The deeper body is also wedged in thickness for more comfort and so this guitar feels super ergonomically comfortable in your arms despite its size.
Like all "regular" Brunner guitars it also features the easily adjustable neck connection where the string action can be adjusted on the fly with quick tweak with an Allen key at the heel.

This one we built on stock but it has just sold! But we'd love to build more of these if you're interested in a similar one😉

Here's some exciting news! 🤩
Being able to provide gig bags or hard cases for the Brunner Compact guitars (with the easily removable necks) has been a returning challenge over the years, as finding companies who would make them in the small quantities, is very difficult.
As some of you know, two year ago I decided to start making them ourselves again and together with our youngest daughter, who is a seamstress, we made some nice sturdy gig bag. Unfortunately it just ended up being too much work and we'll only continue doing those for non standard sized instruments.
However, it looks like I found an easy enough process to make our new own fibre glass hard cases here at Brunner Guitars, where we even don't need to do any fibre glass sanding! Here some picts of the first prototype, I'm really stoked about it! The 4mm think shell with a special inner layer turns out super strong and not too heavy!😎Getting all the bits and pieces together including a custom rubber edging profile was quite the process though....
These cases will be available for all full-size B-Compact models (B-Medium body size), acoustics and slim body and there will also be a 8cm longer case available to fit the Baritone and short scale Bass necks as well! The cases also have room to accommodate two necks! So there no longer a need to carry a separate neck bag if you have a B-Compact multi-neck model. Also the B-Compact Harp guitars are fitting in these cases as well!
It will take a few months until we'll have a bit of a stock built up as the summer is really full, but I do take preorders if you want to upgrade your old soft bag that you may have ;) it will be available in three different fabrics, in this black fibre glas, in carbon fibre and in natural flax fibre fabric for the more organic look (see picts).
The measurement of this case for the standard scale necks is 65x40x17cm on the widest points and it's the same as the previous soft bags. It's theoretically 10cm too for many airline carry-on restrictions, but I never heard of anyone all these years having trouble carrying it onto an airplane.
I'm looking forward to show you all models in a few weeks... 😊

My wife had a pottery week going on at our Chasa Perspectiva with some ladies and I couldn't resist trying to do some sculpting on this last afternoon as well!
I've done quite a bit of wood sculpting before but clay is a lot of fun too! 😃
(It's not really supposed to be me, just any guy... 🙃)
