~Villa San Michele:

In 1895 the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe fell in love with this
place, where at the time there were the remains of an
ancient 10th century chapel dedicated to St. Michael.

There were important figures in this villa,
like Princess Maria Luisa of Hanover
which appears in the photograph taken in 1903 under the
pergola of the Villa.

Or the figures of the two English writers, Oscar Wilde and
Douglas: when Oscar Wilde left prison after serving a
sentence for "so**my",. Munthe opened the doors of Villa
San Michele to him and his lover Lord Alfred Douglas.

Upon Munthe's death in 1949, Villa San Michele was
bequeathed to the Swedish state.
Today it is one of the most visited places on Capri.
It also offers many exclusive events during the summer,
such as aperitifs, book presentations and classical and
contemporary music concerts, which can be accessed by
reservation.

~Villa San Michele:

The construction of this villa lasted many years, due to
various difficulties, told by its creator in an autobiography,
entitled "The story of San Michele".

A work in which he also talks about various reflections on
life and death, medical ethics and animal rights.
The most curious thing is that it turned out to be one of the
most read books of the entire twentieth century, after the
Bible and the Koran.

The structure has archeological jewels not only Roman, but
also Etruscan and Egyptian,
like the legendary red granite sphinx.

This splendid loggia is supported by pergolas and columns
which are accessed via a long Phoenician staircase, which
leads to an incredible viewpoint overlooking the sea and the
Gulf of Naples.

Ich bin gerade aus den Marken zurückgekehrt, jener zauberhaften Region an der adriatischen Küste im Osten Italiens. Die außergewöhnlich gastfreundlichen Besitzer, Grazia und Nicola, luden mich zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis ein: einer Trüffelsuche.

La Melusina, das charmante Ferienhaus, liegt idyllisch unterhalb eines 25 Hektar großen Waldes, in dem köstliche Trüffel gedeihen. Gemeinsam mit Alessandro und seinem treuen Hund machten wir uns an einem aufregenden Morgen auf die Suche nach den begehrten „Sommertrüffeln“.

Nach unserer erfolgreichen Jagd zauberte der begnadete Chefkoch Samuele die frisch gesammelten Trüffel in allen erdenklichen Variationen. Jeder Bissen war ein Hochgenuss!

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle, die dieses unvergessliche Abenteuer ermöglicht haben!
