Few people realise that in winter anakena can get some amazing sunsets as the winter sun sets much more north the the summer sun. Admittedly one needs to have a little luck on one's side.

The mighty cráter of Rano Kao on the southern part of Rapa Nui - Easter Island Island Is breathtaking. It is between the cliffs into the volcano on one side and into the ocean on the other is the ceremonial vilage of Orongo. It was here that once a yesr people from the island would gather to compete in the birdman competitio. A unique competion whixh involced a race to the island of the coast to find the first egg of the sooty tern bird.
