Sunny winter evenings are a perfect time to enjoy the beautiful slops of Rano Raraku where the majority of Easter Islands statues were made. If photography is your thing we recommend entering the Parque at about 1630 to get the best lighting before the Parque closes.

The mighty cráter of Rano Kao on the southern part of Rapa Nui - Easter Island Island Is breathtaking. It is between the cliffs into the volcano on one side and into the ocean on the other is the ceremonial vilage of Orongo. It was here that once a yesr people from the island would gather to compete in the birdman competitio. A unique competion whixh involced a race to the island of the coast to find the first egg of the sooty tern bird.
