Our Story

AlmaMar Matanzas is located in the heart of Matanzas on the front line of the ocean just above the beach. It’s halfway between Hotel Surazo and Roca Cuadrada and it has a view of both. It was completed in 2016 and is a favored vacation retreat for Santiaginos and ocean lovers around the world. Windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing conditions are World-Class! The La Mesa surf break is directly in front of AlmaMar. Put your wetsuit on while drinking a cup of coffee and then walk out front and surf!

Unique in Matanzas, AlmaMar enjoys direct access to the beach from the private stairs coming off of the front deck. Downtown Matanzas is only a 1km walk on the sand – about 10-15 minutes. In town you’ll find markets, restaurants, stylish hotels, yoga classes and surfing and cycling equipment rentals. We’re about 2.5 hours south of the capital of Santiago and The Colchagua Valley wine region is a 1.5 hour easy drive away.

The fully equipped kitchen has high-quality cooking gear and we keep it stocked with essentials like salt, sugar and cooking oil. And yes, our WiFi is excellent. Our beds are heavenly and after a fun filled day you may find yourself sleeping better than you ever have before. Whether you’re driving down for the weekend or traveling from across the globe, you’ll absolutely love AlmaMar Matanzas and the seaside resort town of Matanzas, Chile. It’s a very special and stunningly beautiful place.
