During winter months adventure tourism students from Universidad de la Frontera (UFRO) arrive to the retreat at 9 am to train in whitewater rafting and kayaking. Cristian Huenchuleo and David Joos have been leading Chile's largest adventure program for two decades. The retreat has hired many of the UFRO alumni in various departments. On cold days we watch from our warm office students running the parking lot to warmup.

Scarlett: Ignacio caught some this morning Scarlett: He’s selling them for $5.000 per kilo PKR: jajaja... yes please. Scarlett: How much? Scarlett: They are small this time of the year PKR: 3 kilos and we can have Eva prep into: immediate ceviche, .5 kilo freezable packages for to cook as I go. *(5.000/kilo = $USD6/2.2 pounds)

Our Story

Located in the heart of Chile’s lakes, rivers and volcano anomaly on the Trancura River. Pucón Kayak Retreat is the epicenter of whitewater river activity and adventure exploration in the region. Guests from around the globe run kayak trips and multi-sport adventure programs in addition to kayak instruction, and renting equipment. Many guests stay for multiple weeks and return yearly for the love of whitewater and all of Chile’s glory.
