ChileMontaña is an Adventure Travel Company based in Santiago de Chile, created and operate by Vivianne Cuq and Francisco (Pancho) Medina. We began guiding mountaineering expeditions and trekking adventures in 1983 and soon realized that there was a whole world of outdoor and cultural experiences waiting to be shared. ghout the world. We maintain our major focus on South America, our home, with the endless travel and adventure possibilities of the Chilean, Argentinean, Bolivian and Peruvian Andes. We offer you a wide range of memorable outdoor experiences in and around the Andes: easy and medium trekking expeditions; demanding mountaineering programs; fascinating overland trips through the Atacama Desert, the Altiplano, and Patagonia; fully guided freeride and backcountry skiing and snowboarding expeditions through the best skiing terrain of the Andes; day trips and short getaways around Chile’s capital Santiago and many more. All of our adventures cater to small groups in order to ensure a maximum amount of fun and security for every single one of our customers. The majority of our trips are tailor-made and we are happy to create your personal dream holiday or adventure to the most beautiful and fascinating places in South America. Next to our adventure holidays, we also offer the best mountaineering courses in South America. Pancho Medina, one of the first UIAGM certified mountain guides in South America and also a CAA, NOLS, FASI and AGAM certified instructor, has developed a number of courses that specialize in outdoor education and mountain sports, ranging from climbing courses for beginners over avalanche training seminars to the UIAGM mountain guide examination. Parinacota volcano (6,342 m/20,807 ft) and Pomerape volcano (6,282 m/22,578 ft)

They are 2 mountains of 6000 m that are located between the border of Chile and Bolivia.These 2 volcanoes represent a beautiful challenge for those who want to reach a summit of 6000 m, with an expedition that can last between 3 and 4 days.

However, these volcanoes not only represent a challenge for mountaineers, these also have a great cultural importance for the indigenous people.

During this trip to the north of Chile you will have the opportunity to visit the Lauca National Park, stay in the village of Parinacota, visit the Chungara Lake, the colorful mountain Suriplaza, among others.

It is the little sister of the Salar de Uyuni, another salt formation bordering the Chilean border, surrounded by volcanoes in shades of gray, silver, red and white. Spectacular. Majestically snow-capped, the Ollagüe volcano peaks at over 5865 meters above sea level, and straddles the border with Chile and Bolivia.

We would like to congratulate our ChileMontana team, guests and guides, who once again reached the summit of Ojos del Salado (6,893m / 22,614ft)
🌋. The expedition consisted of Chad Widmel, Koki Nakabuchi, Ben Sweet, Danielle Silvertsen, Richard Burrell, Jack Ran and the guides Eduardo Unzueta expedition leader (UIAGM guide), Mario Pérez support guide (UIAGM aspirant), Cristian Ordenes support guide, Elías Millaquén support guide and Juan Carlos Briceno base camp leader,
In addition, a special greeting to the team Chad Widmer, Koki Nakabuchi and Ben Sweet who on March 28, 2023 reached the summit of the highest volcano in the world. Also to the team of Jack Ram and Cristian Ordens who one day later also reached the summit at 04:19 pm.
To all the expedition members our congratulations and a big thank you for the exceptional teamwork that has allowed us to record once again a successful Ojos del Salado Expedition! 👏👏💪
