The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is located in Xi'an. The construction of the mausoleum took 38 years from 246 to 208 BC. The tomb itself has never been ecavated. Inside the mausoleum we can find the Terracotta Army. In 2007 they estimated that the pits containing the Terracotta Army held more than 8000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses, all of them different from each other. It is said that the Terracotta Army is here to protect the Emperor in his afterlife.
