"Brothers In Arms" — The Shwedagon Temple, more than 2500 years old, is the most sacred Buddhist site in all of Myanmar. In 2007, it became the site of violent clashes between military forces and protesting monks. Defying the junta's ban on public assembly, hundreds of Buddhist monks marched in downtown Yangon, linking arms in a human chain, demanding their religious and civil rights to enter the temple to worship.
