The OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine will probably welcome a new member this month. China is set to join the organization, a significant addition indeed as it's one of the most coveted market for wine exporters, including Italy

Questo mese l'OIV (Organizzazione Internazionale delle Viti e del Vino) probabilmente aprirà le porte a un nuovo membro. La Cina dovrebbe entrare a farne parte: un acquisto davvero significativo, visto che si tratta di uno dei mercati più ambiti per gli esportatori di vino, Italia inclusa

China is expected to become a full member of the OIV this November, giving the country greater influence in formulating international standards and regulations on wine production and consumption.

BARCOLANA 56 - TODAY IN TRIESTE THE OPENING OF THE GREATEST REGATTA IN THE WORLD ⛵️⛵️
From today, October 4 up to October 13, an incredible number of events, both at sea and on land, will unfold in Trieste and neighboring cities for the 56th edition of Barcolana presented by Generali Italia. The main, big regatta, with more than 1,000 participants will be held on October 13 in the Gulf of Trieste - meanwhile, a whole lot of sea races and events, including a free live concert by famed Italian band Subsonica, will lead up to it.

TODAY at 6.30pm, in San Giorgio della Richinvelda (Pordenone), the Municipality and the association Le Radici del Vino will pay tribute to the memory of Domenico Pecile in the 100th anniversary of his death. Pecile was mayor both in S. Giorgio and in Udine, but was mainly a great innovator in agriculture, introducing cooperatives in Friuli and promoting the cultivation of Cabernet and Merlot varieties in the area

Finally, Prosecco won its battle! 🏆 New EU regulations on IGP products established that no other wines will be allowed to call themselves "prosecco" or "Prosek" (as some foreign countries used to do) without having proved ties with its geographical area of origin and production, Veneto - and Friuli Venezia Giulia too 🥳🥳🥳

Finalmente il prosecco ha vinto la sua battaglia! 🏆 Le nuove regolamentazioni della UE in materia di prodotti IGP hanno stabilito che nessun vino potrà chiamarsi prosecco o "Prosek" (come succedeva in alcuni Paesi stranieri) se non ha comprovati legami con la sua area geografica di provenienza e produzione, il Veneto - e anche il Friuli Venezia Giulia 🥳🥳🥳
