Buñuelos & Natilla 😋

Buñuelos are a deep-fried, golden, and crispy creation that are so popular that they are consumed throughout the year, but they certainly occupy a place of honor during the month of December & la Novena de Aguinaldos.

Natilla is the most popular dessert during the Christmas season in Colombia and can be best described as a cold custard dessert, made with cornstarch, vanilla, sugar, eggs, lemon peel, cinnamon, and evaporated milk.

🕊️ Our International Interns in Medellín visiting Museo Casa de la Memoria - created in 2006 as an initiative of overcoming the internal armed conflict and the violence in Medellín and Colombia.

The Museum aims to teach people about the events from the past that have marked the present to contribute to the guarantees of non-repetition, and construct a culture of respect & value of life.

"Looking back on my Intern Colombia internship program with Sistema B Colombia, I realize that it was a foundational experience that continues to guide my path in the development field today. The internship shed light on the value of collaborating and conducting research with local stakeholders in development, which I currently try to reflect at Miami SCORES.

As their Partnerships and Development Associate, I often engage with local organizational partners and influential individuals who have the potential to further improve our social impact.

On a more personal basis, my time in Colombia also further connected me to the Spanish language and sparked my curiosity around Latin American cultures.

I find it in my interest to continue promoting social inclusion and recognition through research and communications and pushing to give a voice to historically marginalized and/or lesser known populations within the Americas, all the while engaging with local stakeholders throughout it all."

We're delighted to welcome Andrea to Medellín!

Andrea is studying a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a Concentration in Information Technology at NC State University.

She will be undertaking a 16-week internship program with a clean energy start-up that will be managing one of the 10 projects approved & funded by the Government of Colombia to deliver pre-investment studies for green & blue hydrogen – a key part of the government’s plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
