Ocellated Tapaculo
I remember one of my first photo tour in Ecuador, I meet a guy who had an embalmed skin that he had bought 40 years ago, when he was finally retired, he decided to do a trip to looking for that bird but alive. That day we had to walk a lot and we were so close to skeep It but when you use the local community servicies, that helps a lot and was the local guide and his knowledge who helped our guest to reach the goal.

The Buffy Helmetcrest is a truly gem from the Central range of the Andean Mountains in Colombia. Inhabits a very restricted área on a ecosystem called Paramo, a hinospit place whose main characteristic is rain and low temperature almost always. Mesetas - Colombia
Mesetas is a tiny municipality located 4 hours from Villavicencio (aka the door of the Colombian Flatlands), its altitude is 800 meters and no far from Mesetas we have an amazing place for the Harpy Eagle. It is also special because in addition we have the opportunity to share within a community protecting the nest, a community that suffered the consequence of 50 years of a horrible war. Then at night you can go out with good light conditions to try to photograph the milky way and this is the result.

Xenophobia is unacceptable behavior that goes against the principles of respect, equality and solidarity among human beings. In Colombia, as in any other country, there should be no room for discrimination against any group of people, especially those who, with their work, contribute to the cultural, social and economic wealth of the nation. Latinos, farmers and nature guides are an essential part of the social and economic fabric of Colombia, and are worthy of recognition and respect.
Farmers have historically been the guardians of the land, those who with their daily efforts ensure the production of food and the preservation of the landscapes that we all admire. For their part, nature guides, who are deeply knowledgeable about the country's biodiversity and natural heritage, are ambassadors of Colombian culture and the environment to the world. These groups not only contribute to the local economy, but are also bearers of ancestral knowledge and fundamental values for the sustainability of the territories.
Anyone who dares to belittle, discriminate against, or treat Latinos, farmers, or nature guides in a derogatory manner is not only acting out of ignorance, but is also becoming an unwelcome person for the country and the tourism industry. Colombia is a diverse country, full of culture and tradition, and anyone who is not willing to respect that diversity does not deserve to be part of the community that inhabits it or the tourism sector that depends so much on these valuable contributions. We strongly condemn any xenophobic act, as it has no place in a country that should be an example of tolerance, inclusion, and mutual respect.
We strongly condemn the actions of Thomas Riemersma, whom we describe as a grotesque, xenophobic, racist and vulgar being. His unacceptable behavior directly attacks the values of respect and human dignity that we defend as a society and as a country. Expressions of hatred and contempt towards Latinos, peasants and nature guides in Colombia are totally unacceptable and deserve the strongest rejection.
We commit to taking action at the governmental and judicial level to ensure that individuals like Thomas Riemersma cannot enter Colombia or be provided with any type of tourist service. We will not tolerate our land, known for its diversity and hospitality, being trampled on by those who promote hatred and discrimination.
Colombia must be a space of respect and inclusion, and we will not allow people who disregard these principles to be part of our community or enjoy the tourist services that we value so much. Therefore, we will activate the necessary legal mechanisms to ensure that this prohibition is applied effectively and forcefully.

Emerald Glass Frog (Espadarana prosoblepon)
Espadarana prosoblepon is a medium-sized centrolenid frog (Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid 2007), measuring 21-28 mm in males and 25-31 mm in females. The head is broader than it is long, with a truncate snout, and appears round when viewed from above (Savage 2002). The eyes are large and bulging, with a horizontally elliptical pupil (Leenders 2001), and the space between the eyes measuring less than the diameter of one eye (Savage 2002). The tympanum is indistinct. Vomerine teeth are present in a slightly diagonal patch between choanae, separated medially (Savage 2002). Bones and intestines are visible through skin, although the intestines are less discernible because they are covered by a white membrane, the parietal peritoneal sheath (Leenders 2001; Savage 2002). The skin is smooth, although there are two regions where the skin becomes granular: on the belly below the vent and on the ventral surface of the thighs. On the thighs, the granular skin surrounds cloacal ornamentations (a pair of warts, one on each thigh) (Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid 2007).

This is truly a ghost bird who inhabits at high elevations in the Colombian Andean range, sometimes you are lucky and manage to photograph some individuals.
