7 years ago, I returned from a trip to Australia with my brother.
We were amazed at the possibility of being able to sleep in an apartment equipped with everything we needed, without having to go through a hotel counter.
Back in Medellín, we decided to try our luck and rented an apartment that we could furnish with just the essentials, and later sublet it through Airbnb.
We had no idea what was going to happen.
The experiment went so well that, after a few months, along with my 5 siblings and my parents, we rented an entire building to do the same thing.
My brother @monolondo and I ended up taking charge of the operation. He handled the day-to-day and logistics, while I took care of the administrative and commercial aspects.
Our strengths complemented each other's weaknesses.
Eventually, friends and acquaintances started entrusting us with their properties to manage, and in many cases, even seeking advice on which property to buy and how to design it for a better ROI.
Last year, convinced of the potential of Medellín and Colombia, we decided to fully dedicate ourselves to this venture, and The Stayers was born—a tourism operator that showcases the beauty of our country through unique accommodations and experiences that reflect our cultural richness, moving away from the stereotypes that our country may have once been associated with.
Today, I am proud to officially introduce The Stayers.

We believe in design. Everything we do is crafted to serve humans and should be beautiful. It's that harmonious intersection of functionality and aesthetics that we seek.
We believe in technology. Like sticks and stones, technology is just another device to help us live better lives. For us, it means facilitating our guests experience and running our company more efficiently.
We believe in service. Whether accommodating an early check-in or leaving those extra amenities for a better stay, service is our love language. It is the expression of our commitment to excellence.
We believe in tourism. For the tourist it means exposing himself to the unknown, leaving the nest in pursuit of personal growth. For the locals it's the opportunity to share their culture and experiences, while also gaining from it.
Ultimately, we believe in Latam. It is called the 'new world' for a reason. Our region has an untapped potential that is yet to be discovered. The abundance of natural wealth that we have is just overwhelming.
