All work is custom and 100% hand made! I'm from Montana, USA and I grew up making crafts of all kinds. I developed a deep passion for leather work and now, a decade and a half later, I finally decided to establish Montana Company International. I recall one day when I was about fourteen years of age: I went to the Army-Navy store in Columbia Falls, Montana to buy a wallet. I had about eleven bucks
and some coinage. At that moment I realized: I simply cannot justify spending my money to buy something to put my money in. To me, it made about as much sense as buying a trash bag just to throw it away. I put my money back in my pocket and went home to find some leather scraps and make my own wallet. My boyhood leather hobby was born. This is the “Montana” part of the profile. As I commenced an aimless multi-year venture around the world after finishing college, I carried one of my leather bags with me as my main luggage piece while skipping through dozens of airports. Some would casually mention, “Hey, that’s a nice laptop bag.” Others would say, “I’ve never seen a bag like that before.” They came to me from across busy intersections in San Francisco and Denver and Beijing and Bogotá just to ask, “Where did you get that bag?” A customs agent in Belgium once stopped me to inspect my bag; he told me he noticed the design and wanted to take a closer look. Interest in the bag grew during times of travel, hence the “international” part of the profile. Some people conclude, “Oh, so you manufacture the bags in South America and then export them?” Nope, I hand-make all of my work with my own two hands. No employees. No power tools. No fancy factory. Just me, a sharp knife, a stitching needle and a pile of leather. Each piece is made-to-order. Each piece is 100% unique. Each piece has the future owner in mind with all special requests as the piece is constructed. You will not find another bag like this anywhere in the universe. Thanks for visiting. Have an excellent day!
