... a 230+ years rediscovery is not too shabby indeed! 💥🤓🤯

📣🆕🚨🔔 BREAKING NEWS again!
*The Magdalena Tinamou (Crypturellus erythropus saltuarius) was just rediscovered for Tolima department (Colombia) after more than 230 years!*
Only known in Tolima by historical accounts (more than 2 centuries old!) from the "Royal Botanical Expedition to the New Kingdom of Granada", then collected in Cesar by Carriker in 1943 (same guy that collected the Bearded Bellbird that was also just re-discovered in Colombia!), and a few records without any evidence in the last decade or so...
These kind of crazy re-discoveries only happen, and so often!, in Colombia and we couldn't be more excited living and birding in a country like this! - vocal and genetical analyses in the future might prove this subspecies (saltuarius) deserves species status and would become another Colombian dramatically range-restricted endemic.

Lava Gulls eating doritos, Darwin Finches and Mockingbirds galore, hiking on huge volcano calderas, Giant Tortoises while riding bicycles, snorkeling with Hammerhead Sharks, Marine Iguanas everywhere... crazy crazy unique islands... we just went to the GALÁPAGOS!

SOBREVOLANDO CIENTOS y CIENTOS DE KILÓMETROS DE PURO BRÓCOLI... acabamos de llegar de un viaje MARAVILLOSO al Apaporis con Ecoglobal Expeditions Ecoturismo, Turismo de Naturaleza y de Aventura donde cumplí uno de mis sueños: subir al tepui CERRO MORROCO a paisajiar desde LA VETANA DEL MUNDO. Que sitio más increíble, que ríos más deliciosos pa tirar charco, que calidá de pájaros (laifercito de Polioptila facilis y Pilar encontró Amazona kawalli a 200km de la primera localidad conocida pa Colombia hace poco que es Mitú: https://ebird.org/tripreport/88467 y click en MOSTRAR DETALLES) y que putería de experiencia...
