MEET ABRAHAM!

Abraham is a promising trainee guide with Sea Kayaking Costa Rica. Despite being in his early twenties, he is already a licensed tour boat captain and an accredited local guide. Having grown up in Playa Blanca—one of our key paddling destinations in Golfo Dulce Trip (Costa Rica). He possesses a deep, personal knowledge of the area. Abraham plays a vital role by providing boat support on trips and occasionally joins the paddling crew in a kayak to help lead excursions.

A Sea Kayaking Costa Rica trip leader will be leading the trip along with Nemesio, a good friend and Kayak Guide who is a Kuna Native; we have been guiding trips in San Blas since 2011 and have led over 40 multi-day trips After many years of running this trip with the 9-day format, we decided to shorten it since the shorter format does not significantly alter the route. It still includes amazing paddling stretches, breathtaking locations, visiting villages, great snorkeling spots, and opportunities for R&R. We provide our guests with new NRS Clearwater Mesh Back, NRS Zoya Mesh Back, and Stohlquist EBB Mesh Back PFDs. Our Spray Skirts are Inlander by Seal Skirts. One of our priorities is to ensure that our guests are well-prepared for the trip. That's why we provide comprehensive pre-trip information, covering everything from what to pack to what to expect. We want you to feel confident and ready for your adventure. We carry communication tools, including a GPS rescue beacon

Join us for an 8-day intimate discovery of the San Blas Archipelago in the heart of the autonomous territory of Kuna Yala, also spelled Guna Yala. The San Blas Archipelago consists of 365 tiny tropical islands set in the Caribbean Sea right off the coast of Panama. Experience the true meaning of paradise while paddling from one deserted island to the other. Protected by the outer reef, we will paddle the warm, crystal clear waters crossing canals, along stretches of mangrove forests, and into freshwater rivers flowing down from the jungle mountains that dominate the coastline. In a single or double, enclosed, sturdy kayak we’ll navigate through shallow parts, looking for passages between the reefs and corals. We’ll meet the Kunas, an indigenous people who live in this politically autonomous reserve. You will be introduced to one of their communities, including the House of Congress, schools, churches, and homes. Besides the trip’s cultural aspect, we will enjoy paradise as we’ve all imagined it! Deserted islands with palm trees surrounded by white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters; swimming whenever you like and snorkeling the incredible coral reefs only steps from your tent. Relax and read your favorite book from your hammock, with the best views in the world. On this trip, you’ll forget anything outside this wonderland!

Tortuguero, The Little Amazon of Costa Rica!

Join one of our trips and enjoy one of the world’s most unique kayaking and wildlife-watching destinations. Tortuguero, a.k.a. Costa Rica’s little Amazon, is located on the northern Caribbean coast and is known for its extensive network of rivers, canals, lagoons, national park, and village by the same name. The area is accessible only by kayak, small boat, or small plane, as no roads lead directly to it. Tortuguero is among the first National Parks established in Costa Rica and is the largest nesting site for the endangered green sea turtles in the Western Hemisphere.

July to October is a great time to visit not only for the weather and great paddling conditions but also to see the green turtles nesting on the beach. Seeing this amazing, slow-moving turtle make her way from the ocean, create her sand nest, and lay her eggs can be genuinely emotional and overwhelming..
