The sandbar of Bahia Ballena which stretches out to the iconic "tómbolo" or "Whale's tail", found in the Marino Ballena National Park 🏖️🐋 The fact that this sand bar reveals itself to look exactly like a whale tail in an area which is renowned as a breeding ground for humpback whales seems to be just a geographical coincidence. Never the less, it certainly gives the beach a certain level of mystique and intrigue.

The historic Edificio Correos in downtown San Jose, otherwise known as the Central Post and Telegraph Building of Costa Rica 🏢📨 Built between 1914 and 1917, this landmark was apart of a series of buildings from a bygone era, during a time when many Italian architectures came to San Jose to build magnificent buildings that would make up the center of downtown San Jose. The city's center was eventually moved to another location and most of the buildings were demolished by the second half of the twentieth century. The Edificio Correos is one of the few buildings left standing.

The Edificio Correos is now the headquarters of the Correos de Costa Rica and is home to a special museum which give rich insights into the early postal service of Costa Rica. If you're exploring San Jose, then this building is a must visit!
