In Costa Rica there are 138 species of snakes, but only 22 are venomous, and even these represent little threat to humans.🐍

Many snakes will only attack if they feel threatened, so staying at a safe distance and avoiding touching them is a great way to prevent snake bites. Costa Rica's snake population plays an important role in maintaining biodiversity in the ecosystem and controlling the animal population. All snakes are carnivorous and will eat rats, frogs, and even other snakes. Sport Fishing off Playas Del Coco is done in the Gulf of Papagayo, Catalinas and Bat Islands, as well as in Tamarindo region. The main fishing spots are reached after 60-75 minutes boats running. Playa Del Coco deep sea fishing is a must when on vacation in Costa Rica. There are several species of tropical fish that you can catch while out to sea and then bring back for your dinner. The Pacific Ocean is not the only place you have to wrangle some fish in Costa Rica. There are a number of inland lakes and rivers in Costa Rica, especially in Guanacaste Province. Holy Week in Costa Rica is full of religious customs, mainly for those who are Catholic.

The main religious activities consist of processions, such as Friday of Sorrows, Palm Sunday, Holy Wednesday, Holy Thursday with the Via Crucis, Good Friday of penance, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.

The Iris-billed Toucan is one of the six species that live in Costa Rica. It is differentiated by its elongated beak, which can measure more than a third of its body. They are not skilled in flying, which does not allow them to carry large distances.

They usually live in packs of 6 to 12 individuals and are also monogamous. They breed 2 to 3 times per year and have an average of 2 to 4 eggs per mating.

On one of the recent Spring tours we observed the famous "milk wasps". 🦟

These receive this curious name due to the false belief that their large white or yellowish abdomen is transparent and is full of the milk they extract from the cows when they bite their udders to feed, which is not true.

Hanging on the branches of the bushes, they build honeycombs or wasp nests where they lay their eggs and the young develop, and the adults always cover the outside with their own bodies, forming a kind of cluster that acts as the cover or wall of the honeycomb.
