"We had a wonderful experience with Francella and Chris. Chris found many animals on our guided hike to point out to us and let us view with his telescope and was very informative throughout. We then went tubing down the rio Celeste following the hike, which was a lot of fun. This experience lasted all day and we never felt rushed. Curiosities about glass frogs🐸✨

--They are nocturnal amphibians that spend the day sleeping face down on translucent leaves that match the color of their back, a common camouflage tactic.

--"Glass frogs almost pause their respiratory system during the day, even at high temperatures" to become transparent, hiding red blood cells from view.

--Every time glass frogs want to be transparent, which is what usually happens when they are at rest and vulnerable to predation, they filter almost all the red blood cells from their blood and hide them in a liver covered with a kind of mirror, avoiding creating a large blood clot in the process.
