Ever wonder why mature dead palm trees are not taken down in our area? Here’s a few photos to see why!
These are natural nests created by our magnificent Scarlet Macaws. In our neighborhood alone we have 6 natural nests and 1 new one- a young couple is working on it currently. 4 of them have active nests this season.
The parents will return to these nests year after year until the palm tree falls down naturally. (5 or 6 years +/-). Each year they create a deeper nest and more holes on the side.

On February 2nd, a female Olive Ridley turtle laid her eggs on our beach. Her nest will be carefully monitored and safely allowed to hatch thanks to the efforts of the Tambor Bay Turtles program. These folks are dedicated to the protection of the sea turtles of Tambor Beach.
