The wooden elevated structure sits nestled in over 1 acre of its own enclosed natural native-jungle garden where you can often spot an array of visiting wildlife including howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, butterflies, various lizards and geckos and even the odd sloth may saunter by! Cahuita village has several bars, restaurants and shops all within a few minutes’ drive (15/20 minutes’ walk). As are the renowned beaches and jungle walks of the stunning Cahuita National Park. A 15-minute drive takes you to the popular tourist hotspot of Puerto Viejo where coconut rice, Reggae music, colourful Caribbean-style homes, and a laid-back attitude to life dominate. Along with some of the country's most beautiful surfing beaches, lush jungle, various tourist attractions and an array of restaurants and nightlife. Cahuita is approx. 200 km (120m) from San Jose and is about a 4-hour drive from the airport, depending on traffic and road conditions. Take Route 32 out of San Jose, driving through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Follow the signs to Guapiles, Siquirres and Limon. In Limon, turn south on Route 36, and follow the signs to Cahuita.
