Costa Rica Updates
Hey my friends, soon i'm proudly having you some look on what happened 2017 at Finca Talamanca. This year wasn't the easiest year at all, there were some obstacles and loads of physical and mental work, some sad stories but also lots of fun. New people showed up and are amazed by the country and especially the Talamancan area, wanting now to get grip here for a future living.
As i mentioned once in a video on my Youtube channel, life down here in the wet tropics isn't all about running around naked all day long and enjoying ripe fruits falling down to your feet. It is challenging! Lots to do and much to deal with that is totally differend from northern countries. It is true work and true life, the national slogan "Pura Vida" fits perfectly here. I love this lifestyle and i'm so glad to be able to live it, even though right now i'm only able to live it 6 months a year whereas the other months i got to earn some money back in Switzerland. I do that to speed up the process of creating independency and community.
It is not only a living by my own down here that i create, it is a community of likeminded people. In times like that, where we cannot trust our governmental leaders, we must stick together and create sub-organizations. Close communities and glued neighborhoods are key to a reasonable and stable life. Once people realize how few is needed to live a healthy and rewarding lifestyle, they see the urge to get out of a stressful system where nothing is serving anymore to the wellbeing of men and nature, where leaders lost their minds and fail to get it back on the right track.
A natural lifestyle is key and base for a proper development of body, mind and soul. It is needed to shut down the artificial overstimulation of our senses ruled by an environment full of negative manipulation, led by financial greed. Its needed to break free of the actual worlds manmade system, where truth is buried under lies, misinformation and unconsciousness.
My honest wish is freedom for everyone and everything. My methods, leading towards that goal, are beeing an example of someone living a natural lifestyle, and the direct leadership and support towards it. My tools are my mind, body and soul. I choose the tropics because of some reasons:
⦁ climate: it is warm all year long, this promotes physical health without the artificial need of insulated houses and heaters
⦁ development: tropical countries ar less developt in terms of infrastructure and technologie, therefore these are more influenced and depending on nature
⦁ land and labour costs: setting up a suitable environment where it is possible to live selfsufficient to a very high degree is cheap
⦁ regulations: to get something done, there aren't that much restrictions and lays to depend on
There is still a big choice of tropical and subtropical areas around the world. Let me tell you why i'd decide for Costa Rica - Talamanca that is located in the southern caribbean part, close to the ocean:
⦁ climate: it is warm and humid all year long, no droughts, that disables water shortages for men and environment, as a result, food grows fast and nature is always lush
⦁ development: it is the least developed part of costa rica, land down there offers a good relation between remoteness and accessability. because of its touristic attractiveness, Costa Rica is very available to travel to, flights are cheap, and because of its small size, its easy to cross the whole country in only one day by bus.
⦁ land and labour costs: when it comes to land, Talamanca is the cheapest part of costa rica. price per squaremeter of adequate land is about 0.2 to 1$, labour is about 25$/day on gardening or construction
⦁ culture/language: culture is similar to our western culture, that makes it easier to get along within, language is spanish, some percentage does speak english too due to the tourism. beside of that, especially in talamanca, theres still loads of indigenous people living, some very remote ones live still a traditional life in peace with nature
⦁ subculture/mood: many health enthusiasts, nature lovers, spiritual developers and environment saviors choose costa rica as their habitat and operation base. therefore, especially in Talamanca, there's a huge healthy movement of cool people thinking outside the box. through its Pura Vida mentality, the dream like, wide and empty beachline and paradisial nature surroundings, you cant escape the overwhelming holiday mood
⦁ environmental conciousness: costa rica has reforested from 20 to over 50% of forest since the 80s, a quarter of the country is natural reserve. half of the biggest natural reserve (parque nacional la amistad, 2'000km2) is located in southern Costa Rica, directly in the backyard of Talamanca. due to it's possibilities, Costa Rica covers nearly 100% of its energy requirement with renewable nationally produced energy
⦁ topography/situation: its mountains, valleys, forests, volcans, planes, rivers, creeks and coasts create various microclimates that are making Costa Rica unique, all that packed in a narrow country that serves as a nantural corridor between north and south america, makes it a tremendous versatile paradise of plants and animals
⦁ virginity: contrary to all this beautiful facts, there are no big touristic infrastructures like hotel complexes. beaches and forests are widely untouched and wild, and backpacker tourists concentrate at a few small locations like Cahuita and Puerto Viejo, where they spend nights in bungalows
