We wanted to let everyone know we've concluded tracking Pardo the Ocelot. His first six months back into the wild have gone as hoped, and it's been an educational experience for our team. Larissa Thelin, an external investigator, has generously volunteered her time and expertise to analyze the data points from Pardo's collar using GIS. She'll study high and low-density travel ranges and his average movement rate to create home range maps. This data is incredibly valuable, as there's limited information about ocelot's whereabouts and their movements in the wild. Especially after they have been rehabilitated and rewilded, we can't wait to share further updates with you all! Stay tuned!

Over the coming next few weeks we will be working with Osa Conservation (Conservación Osa) on further data analysis and plan to publish a paper together on the rehabilitation, release and monitoring success of Pardo the Ocelot.

Queríamos informar a todos de que hemos concluido el seguimiento del ocelote Pardo. Sus primeros seis meses de vuelta a la naturaleza han ido como esperábamos, y ha sido una experiencia educativa para nuestro equipo. Larissa Thelin, una investigadora externa, ha ofrecido generosamente su tiempo y experiencia para analizar los datos del collar de Pardo mediante SIG. Estudiará las zonas de desplazamiento de alta y baja densidad y la tasa media de movimiento de Pardo para crear mapas de su zona de campeo. Estos datos son increíblemente valiosos, ya que hay poca información sobre el paradero de los ocelotes y sus movimientos en libertad. Especialmente después de su rehabilitación y reintroducción en la naturaleza, ¡estamos impacientes por compartir más información con todos vosotros! Permanece atento.

Durante las próximas semanas estaremos trabajando con Osa Conservation (Conservación Osa) en más análisis de datos y planeamos publicar un artículo juntos sobre el éxito de la rehabilitación, liberación y monitoreo de Pardo the Ocelot.
