Off the beaten path- Nicaraguan 🇳🇮🦦

We like to make personal connections as to best recommend places we’ve experienced ourselves. To that end, Katrin met with the Guacimo Lodge, at the heart of the San Juan river in Nicaragua. A nestle of bungalows in a forest preserve on the edge of the Indio Maiz Biological Reserve are limited to eight and powered by solar. Affordable adventure packages are led by an expert guide. The emphasis is on fitting travelers into the area through a cultural exchange. When floating down the river, guides can share how rural Nicaraguans from the Bartola community live in the forest.
