The Karen Mogensen Nature Reserve

You can see and enjoy all the joy and beauty of The Karen Mogensen Reserve through all the various networks of hiking trails following the large waterfall that the trails run through. based for many different environmental and biological research. This place is off the average tourist path, located high up in the forest. You will reach your destination on a spectacular hour long hike through the lush forest. You can also choose to ride to the eco-lodge on horseback from the village of Montana Grande. Accommodation is offered in two wooden cabins fronted by large verandas that open to the forest. You will enjoy the scenery and the voices of howler monkeys near by in the distance. Each cabin has two beautiful rooms that can hold up to 16 people. These cabins are powered from solar panels!!! The food is one of a kind, you will never eat a better meal with the lovely dishes prepared from the kindest local Mary in the world. You will feel right at home and get a taste of Costa Rican heaven. Don't forget to grab a warm cup of coffee there as well! The Karen Mogensen Reserve is owned by Asepaleco (Ecological Association of Paquera ,Lepanto, Cobano) a communal non-profit association for conservation and environmental education
