Our Story

Tucked away in Northern Costa Rica, at the Eastern end of Lake Arenal and between the rainforest and Volcano Arenal, rests the peaceful, little village of El Castillo. Very safe and very friendly. With a population of approximately 500 people, you will see more horses than cars and meet people with a passion for nature.

At approximately 2000 feet above sea level, the weather here is always very pleasant, not too hot, not too cold, sometimes rainy, but always very comfortable. Boasting the best views of the lake and volcano, only minutes from the best tours in the area like zip lining, horseback riding, water sports, exhibitions, volcano hikes and natural hot springs, it’s easy for our guests to find a deeper connection with nature and themselves.

Whether it’s eating food grown next door, or taking off on an adventure with a Tico (Costa Rican) , the culture and journey make it an unforgettable experience.

You just find the nicest things along dirt roads.
