🐸 Behold the enchanting Red-Eyed Tree Frog 👀

With its vibrant colors and those striking red eyes, all signs point to poisonous, however, these critters are not venomous.

👁️👁️ When threatened they open their big crazy eyes and show their bright orange feet to distract their predator.

They are simply a living work of art that paints the rainforests of Costa Rica.

Today is Guanacaste Day! The country is celebrating Costa Rica's annexation of the Guanacaste province in 1824. You can find a lot of "fiestas" where you learn about the province's traditions. On world snakes day, we show respect for these captivating creatures who play an imperative role in the ecosystem. We humans can happily coexist with snakes if we understand their habits and respect their space.

This boa is probably just looking for his lunch which doesn't naturally include humans. Yet, it is important to have respect for them and give them space. Keep your eyes out for these beautiful creatures wherever you go!

Todays insider tip destination is "La Mano del Mantra" or the mantra hand. You can find it on the mantra trail at Hacienda La Chimba near San Jose. They have many more trails to choose from and offer a canopy tour, coffee experience, hanging ropes and La Burra Restaurant to nourish you after your adventures. A great place to spend the day and enjoy this areas traditions.

Spread your wings and fly... to Costa Rica where you can see this beauty right in your backyard. The scarlet macaw are called lapa roja or guacamaya roja. They can be sighted mostly along the coasts where the weather is warm and the ocean is near. Can you see the nuts in the tree? The lapa is the only bird who has a powerful enough beak to crack them open and eat the nuts. What a beautiful sight to see.

Rio Celeste is not the only river with a bright blue color in Costa Rica. "The blue falls" in Bajos del Toro are still a well kept secret. Not many tourists get here, but those who do will for sure be amazed by the beauty of the scenery. 💙

Did you know it takes 2-3 years to grow a pineapple?! The name pineapple and or in Spanish, piña, was given due to its resemblance to a pine cone. They are often used to represent warm welcomes, celebration, and hospitality. So the next time life hands you a pineapple, make a piña colada to share with friends! 🍍🥥🍹

This cave feels like coming out of a vortex into a tropical paradise 🏝 Costa Rica has some of the most beautiful, secluded beaches in the world. Playa Arco in the Marino Ballena national park is one of them and is only accessible by boat or through a decent hike from a private lodge.

The blue jeans dart frog, otherwise known as strawberry dart frog, or in Spanish rana roja is a common sight in low land rainforests. They have sensitive skin and are poisonous, but only when orally ingested or when their skin oils are rubbed on an open wound. They eat ants and love to hang out near the water like the liquid that’s collected in these honeycomb ginger plants. Come see for yourself in the magical rainforests of Costa Rica!
