🕯️ All Souls' Day in Costa Rica 🕯️
Every November 2nd, Costa Rica commemorates All Souls' Day, a day dedicated to remembering and honoring loved ones who have passed away. Although this tradition has Catholic roots, it also symbolizes the respect and love families feel for their departed loved ones.

💐 How is it celebrated?
Families usually visit cemeteries to clean and decorate graves with flowers, especially chrysanthemums, gladiolas, and carnations, symbolizing eternal love and respect. Many also light candles and offer prayers, as a way to keep a spiritual connection with those they hold dear.

In some rural communities in Costa Rica, this day is observed in a calm and peaceful atmosphere, without music or festivities, honoring a reflective mood.
It's common for families to share memories and stories of the departed, strengthening family bonds and preserving their loved ones' memory.

🌿🐾 Happy International Sloth Day! 🦥 🐾🌿

Today we celebrate one of Costa Rica’s most beloved animals, the sloth! This incredible mammal, a national symbol of peace and tranquility, reminds us that it’s okay to take life slowly sometimes.

🌿 Interesting Facts About Sloths:

In Costa Rica, we have two species: the two-toed sloth (Choloepus hoffmanni) and the three-toed sloth (Bradypus variegatus).
Three-toed sloths are mainly active during the day, while two-toed sloths are nocturnal.
They can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees to get a full view of their surroundings!
Despite their slow movements, sloths are excellent swimmers and can easily cross rivers.
In Costa Rica, we work hard to protect their habitat and ensure they remain a key part of our incredible biodiversity. Today, let’s celebrate their calm nature and their vital role in our ecosystems!

Dear followers, today I want to share a very special memory with you. While going through an old cabinet, we found a forgotten cassette, and after digitizing it, we uncovered a beautiful video from our early days, back in May 2005.

This video shows small fragments of a trip we made in our very first Hyundai Grace van, traveling from the iconic Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa to the stunning beaches of Guanacaste. It was one of our first big moments as a company, and we are filled with pride to relive and share this memorial video with you.

We’re excited to revisit our beginnings and are grateful to have you with us every step of the way! 🎥💛

✨ Celebrating the Day of Our Lady of the Angels ✨

Every August 2nd, Costa Rica devoutly celebrates the Day of Our Lady of the Angels, the patron saint of the country. This festivity honors "La Negrita," as she is affectionately known, and commemorates her miraculous discovery.

Part of the History:

The story of Our Lady of the Angels began on August 2, 1635, when a young girl named Juana Pereira found a small image of the Virgin Mary on a rock in the forest of Los Pardos near Cartago. Surprised, Juana took the image home, but the next day, the Virgin had disappeared and was found again in the same place where she was initially discovered. This phenomenon repeated several times, which was interpreted as a sign that the Virgin wanted a church to be built at that location. Thus, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels was erected, where thousands of pilgrims arrive each year in a display of faith and devotion.

Relevant Historical Facts:

Patron Saint of Costa Rica: Our Lady of the Angels was officially declared the patron saint of Costa Rica in 1824.

La Romería: Every year, thousands of people participate in the pilgrimage to Cartago, walking miles to reach the Basilica and pay homage to "La Negrita."

National Sanctuary: The Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, located in Cartago, is one of the main religious sanctuaries in the country and a site of great spiritual and cultural significance.

Cada 2 de agosto, Costa Rica celebra con devoción el Día de la Virgen de los Ángeles, la patrona del país. Esta festividad honra a "La Negrita," como cariñosamente se le conoce, y recuerda su milagroso hallazgo.

Parte de la Historia:

La historia de la Virgen de los Ángeles comenzó el 2 de agosto de 1635, cuando una joven llamada Juana Pereira encontró una pequeña imagen de la Virgen María en una roca en el bosque de Los Pardos, cerca de Cartago.
