We have a beautiful nature preserve within walking distance from La Joya de Nosara. To access the reserve, go to Lagarta Lodge hotel reception - pay $10 / person then walk through their property to access. Wear sturdy hiking sandals, pack bug spray and water. The trail runs under the tree canopy and is a nice diversion from our sunny beaches. Plan on a 2 hour trek through well maintained trail system. You can have a self guided tour by following the signage, or schedule a guide. It’s best to go in the early morning. More photos in comments.

Para hoy Estamos programando un único tour a las 7pm para ver las primeras tortugas llegar y para Mañana en la mañana a las 5am para las últimas que quedan de la noche.

Estás son las tortugas más viejitas o muchas veces les hace falta alguna aleta, Normalmente no se logra ver los procesos completos, el tour es solo para conocer la tortuga.

Nota: Para ingresar a la playa se formarán grupos de 9 personas más el guia, incluyendo niños, por lo que en algún momento se le pedirá a alguna persona moverse a otro grupo para poder formar estos, agradecemos su disposición

There is a general sigh of relief when the rain returns to Nosara. It replenishes life in the jungle. 🌱 🌧️

We are fortunate to have a biological reserve so close to our property. To access the reserve, go to the Lagarta Lodge hotel reception - pay $10/person to access the trailhead. Go early to avoid the mid-day heat. It’s a nice break from the beach under the canopy of trees. Follow the marked trail signs and pack water, bug spray and camera to capture nature.

Playa Barragona is an easy day trip from La Joya de Nosara. There’s plenty of shade, a lagoon and lots to explore in the tide pools. #playabarrigona

K-Rae’s Irish Pub and Inn is a unique establishment just off Ruta 160 to Playa Ostinal. There is a full bar and a delicious looking menu. The decor, and vibe is super nice and the view is wonderful. Pack a bathing suit and take a dip in the pool!
