Monkey visit 🙊🐒
Villa Maratón was surrounded last week by the cutest howler monkeys! They enjoyed their visit to Villa Maratón, and ate all of the lovely food we’ve grown for them! Papaya leaves and fruit, trumpet trees and many more were planted in hopes to feed the local monkey troops. We couldn’t be more excited for their visits!

Please remember not to touch them or feed them from your hands, these amazing creatures are considered endangered and they must be protected from being domesticated.

We would like to introduce you to Izzy, the resident iguana 🦎 at Villa Maratón. It is very common to see Izzy sunning herself along the rocks and she is quite friendly as long as you keep your distance. She is accompanied by Iggy, who is double her size, you can’t miss him when he’s around! You’re almost guaranteed to see some animals while staying here, whether iguanas, monkeys, pezotes, raccoons, toucans, parrots and a variety of different birds!
