It’s with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Jessica. She was always the first one to welcome our guests with a wagging tail and was a big part of all we did at Arbol Verde. Jessica played a big part in our life, how we did business and in all our accomplishments through some of the toughest times. She’ll be remembered for her kind, loveable nature and an always giving heart. Thanks to all those who shared in her short but full life with us in Costa Rica.

Arbol Verde Ecolodge is family owned and operated, nestled amongst towering trees in a rainforest jungle next to the Pacific Ocean in the heart of Ojochal de Osa in Costa Rica. Owners Carlo & Tineka from South Africa bought an abandoned project in 2014 and spent more than 3 years in turning it into a unique one of a kind Ecolodge.
The newly renovated “jungalows” - jungle bungalows - are perched upon an environmentally friendly structural design, minimizing the footprint and impact of the natural environment. A sky-walk connects the eco-friendly Jungalows and Casitas, all featuring private balconies with outside lounges and views of the rainforest and tropical gardens.
The eco-design of individual elevated units allows for cool breezes with added luxuries of large screened sliding doors and windows, air-conditioning, in and out door ceiling fans and free Wi-Fi provided in all areas. Guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast on-site while a variety of restaurants and bars are only minutes away.
In our continued commitment in promoting eco-sustainable tourism local manufacturers were employed to make the furniture, artwork and artistic interiors, all our appliances have Energy Star ratings and we make use of LED and Solar Lighting throughout the property. No hazardous septic chemicals or damaging insecticides are used and only natural eco-products are used for laundry and cleaning purposes.
Eco-activities at the lodge include bird & butterfly watching, nature walks and stargazing while an array of sustainable-tourism activities and beaches can be enjoyed in the surroundings including whale watching, horse riding, waterfall hikes, zip-lining, fishing, scuba diving, swimming at natural beaches, visiting national parks, wildlife and turtle sanctuary.
Our eco-friendly accommodations are tastefully decorated with locally handcrafted art and furniture, all feature private covered balcony, outside lounge, private ensuite bathroom with shower and free eco-friendly toiletries, airconditioning, in-and-outdoor ceiling fans, coffeemaker, mini fridge/freezers. In addition our Casitas were equipped with kitchenettes for those families or friends wishing to improve their culinary skills using fresh local organic produce available from the local markets.
