Cerro de la Muerte , in English known as “The Summit of Death”, is the 3 hour stretch of Pan American Highway between San Isidro el General and San Jose. It is the route I take to get from my home to the airport. The scenic drive crosses over the countries highest mountain range and peaks at over 11k feet in altitude. Nothing beats starting your trip by crossing through the summit of death.
