Ideally we would have sunny skies and light wind for all of our sails. However, during our rainy season it is not uncommon to have intense, but short lived showers. We have plenty of areas on the boat where you can wait it out and stay dry. If our captain feels the conditions will be miserable or dangerous, he will cancel the tour. This could happen at anytime before the trip starts. If we can reschedule your reservation we will. If we can’t, we will give you a full refund.

We are no sportfishing outfit, but we do occasionally enjoy doing trolling! We often catch skipjack tuna or jack crevalles and sometimes mahi mahi, yellow fin tuna or wahoo when they are around! 🎣🐟

Serendipity’s commitment to our precious planet 🌎 🌱

We are uniquely positioned close to the pristine Santa Rosa National Park. This area of our coastline has been beautifully protected and we intend to appreciate and explore while having a minimal impact on the natural flora and fauna in our area.

1.⁠ ⁠We use wind energy
The beauty of a sailboat is that we can harness the wind. We are blessed to live in a place that has consistent winds and we rarely have to rely on running our diesel engine during tours.

2.⁠ ⁠We don’t serve on single use plastic
Most boats in our bay sadly serve their guests on plastic plates and use plastic cups. On Serendipity we are committed to minimizing our single-use plastic and serve our guests on durable, marine grade re-usable plastic. In addition, we recycle!

3.⁠ ⁠We shop locally!
Most everything we serve comes from Costa Rica. When possible, we buy at our local farmer’s market and try to buy organic when we can.
